Here’s an inevitable ramification: Canada must immediately cease and desist from charging tolls on the use of any canals and locks it operates that are connected to Lake America.
Consider the Welland Canal, which connects Lake America to Lake Erie. Those China-loving Canadians dare to collect commercial and pleasure craft tolls from U.S.-flagged vessels transiting the waterways heretofore administered by Canada. When navigating through Canadian-operated locks and the Welland Canal, the fees accrue to the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System. But they are now immersed in Lake America.
Here is further evidence that corroborates President Trump’s assertion that America’s generosity has been exploited, especially by Canada and their new friends, China. To wit, from the Code of Federal Regulations, section 402.12, schedule of tolls:

“The applicable charged under item 3 at the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation’s locks (Eisenhower, Snell) will be collected in U.S. dollars. The collection of the U.S. portion of tolls for commercial vessels is waived by law (33 U.S.C. 988a(a)). The other charges are in Canadian dollars and are for the Canadian share of tolls.”
In other words, we don’t charge to use our locks, but Canada charges to use theirs. Surely this American beneficence must change to comport with the new reality of Lake America.
One presumes that Lake America will be administered by America, including all the locks and canals therein. Otherwise, what’s the point of going through all the palaver if shipping tolls continue to reimburse the stroppy Canadiens? It seems another name change is in order: From Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System to American Great Lakes Seaway System.
