Recently, The Atlantic presented the Democrat party’s new election strategy for 2026 and 2028. “The Party has a New Campaign Strategy: Masculinity” carefully details what the party is now defining as “masculinity” and how, after the debacle of the 2024 election, it is attempting to reverse four decades of white male-bashing by focusing on so-called masculine attributes. In other words, it is an ill-conceived strategy born of desperation that is doomed to failure.
In 2024, Donald Trump overwhelmingly captured the white male vote in 42 states (he won 80% of the white male vote in two states, 70 to 76% in seven states, 60 to 69% in 20 states, and 51 to 59% in 13 states). Those stark statistics forced the Democrats to realize that they needed to capture a larger percentage of the white male vote in future elections, especially as black male working-class voters are also abandoning the party in increasing numbers.
What remains of the ossified Democrat party establishment now wants to thread the needle and appeal to white male voters while, at the same time, placating its irascible social justice wing and those who identify as Democratic Socialists of America (“DSA”), as both factions are now de facto allies and the dominant forces within the Party.
How is it going to do this? Another Atlantic piece detailed two theories for how to win back men:
Two theories for how to win back men, I found, are bubbling up. One is to improve the party’s cultural appeal to men, embracing rather than scolding masculinity. The other is to focus on more traditional messaging about the economy, on the assumption that if Democrats build an agenda for blue-collar America, the guys will follow.
However, there are several problems with these two approaches. First, DSA will determine the Democrat party’s messaging and agenda when it comes to the economy. The DSA’s proclaimed reason for being is to transform the United States into the consummate socialist “paradise” while eliminating “the carceral forces of the capitalistic state,” which necessitates scrapping the U.S. Senate, defunding the Department of War, granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants, and replacing the president and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.
There is no room for compromise with what remains of the Democrat party establishment to promote any “traditional” messaging about the economy, which would, by necessity, have to include references to free enterprise, self-reliance, and American exceptionalism, all bedrock principles of blue-collar America and the vast majority of American men. (A recent poll indicated that 65% of men are extremely or very proud to be Americans, as compared to 45% of women.)
Second, it will be the social justice wing of the Democrat party that will ultimately define “acceptable” masculinity. Its entire movement is so ingrained with four decades of white male-bashing and fighting the so-called “patriarchy” that it is incapable of compromising with what remains of the Democrat party establishment, as it would essentially have to renounce DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) as part of any viable strategy to capture a significant percentage of the male vote.
A recent email I received from a self-proclaimed member of the DSA underscores the amalgamation of social justice and socialism that currently dominates the Democrat party.
After excoriating me for a recent column I wrote about the DSA’s takeover of the Democrat party, the author told me that white men were responsible for all the evil in the world and that, if this group of greedy, racist “genocidal maniacs” were eliminated, the United States, thanks to the magic of Democratic socialism, would be a more “equitable, loving, and hospitable” place for all people.
Attached to this harangue were two links. The first was to an article entitled “White Men Must Be Stopped: The Future of Mankind Depends on It.” It was a tedious and implausible exercise in how American white men (who account for less than 1.5% of the global population) have, over the past five centuries, created untold worldwide misery without doing anything positive for mankind.

The second link, the “,” was a juvenile, 19-page rehash of the wonders of socialism/Marxism, if only the anointed members of the DSA were in charge.
My immediate thought after reading all this inanity was that the Democrat party has gone past the point of no return in its anti-Americanism and anti-male bigotry. This is bigotry that has, over three decades, alienated the vast majority of the white male population, as it has repeatedly been told that, due solely to its members’ sex and skin color, virtually all of them are repressed sexual predators, inbred racists, misogynists, and xenophobes, as well as genocidal maniacs, latent white Nationalists, and rapacious reprobates.
Accordingly, because of all this back-breaking guilt, America’s white males must willingly step aside for untold millions of unvetted, unskilled, and illiterate immigrants from the third-world nations that they supposedly exploited. Additionally, white men should further assuage this guilt by groveling at the altar of DEI and meekly marching into the maw of yet another iteration of repressive socialism/Marxism.
What if the Democrat party succeeds in imposing this agenda on the nation and all white men are, by law, relegated to the immutable rules of DEI? What sort of country would Americans be living in?
In 2022, 71% of the population identified as white (that includes 60+% of Hispanics who self-identify as white). White males account for 35% of the overall population. Per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, white men exceed their proportion of the population in more than 60% of all major categories of occupations but are particularly significant in the following:
•85% of aircraft pilots and flight engineers
•84% of logging, fishing, oil and gas drilling, and refinery workers
•78% of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and masons
•78% of mechanics, installers, and service technicians
•77% of farmers and ranchers
•76% of construction managers and supervisors
•76% of automobile, bus, truck, and heavy-vehicle service technicians and mechanics
•74% of police, firefighters, and security workers
•73% of aerospace, electrical, and mechanical engineers
A question for the mind-numbed social justice warriors and DSA members: How would Americans feed and clothe themselves, travel, stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer, build roads and housing, maintain infrastructure, and secure and defend the nation if DEI were rigidly enforced and, within all occupations, the workforce was limited to 35% white men? Further, who would fund the insatiable revenue demands of their socialist “paradise”?
The key to the Democrat party capturing a majority of white male voters is very straightforward. The social justice and DSA factions controlling the Democrat party must, by word and deed, abandon their allegiance to DEI and the adolescent mindset that they can successfully implement socialism/Marxism when all before them have failed.
As that will never happen, the obvious pandering of paying lip service to “masculinity,” as if it were a costume that can be changed at whim, will succeed only in further alienating not only white American men but all American men.
