For once, a major American sports franchise did not balk and fired someone who waged war against Christians and specially Catholics employed in the organization.  The Nationals have DFA (designated for assignment) and released Sean Hudson, the Nationals director of community relations, from his position after an undercover release of his blatant disrespect, disregard, and utter contempt for the religion.  Hudson chastised of one of the Nationals employees, Trevor Williams, a committed Catholic, who in Hudson’s words “is very Catholic” (my emphasis), and called Williams out for his objection to the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” who as a group of drag queens have mocked elements of Catholicism in their performances.

Hudson’s response to the righty relief pitcher’s perspective was to blackball him from Washington Nationals community events — in effect, networking with D.C. club and the fan base, which would drive more tickets, merchandise, clothes, and other tchotchkes associated with the Nationals.  Ostracizing Williams would shut out his values and ideas.

Hudson was definitely all about the greenbacks.  In two spots in a 16-minute-plus video on X, he talks about setting up meetings between secretary of War Pete Hegseth and a defense company like Boeing, with any deals being transacted resulting in a kickback to the baseball franchise (1:19).

He showed his communist proclivities, too, bragging of a “Join the Communists” poster plastered in his office and brainstorming ideas about future promotions, like a dollar donation designated to a fund after a player homers, in an attempt to “redistribute the wealth” (1:56).  The entire report reveals a person of extreme hubris who secretly loathes the game of baseball.

In fact, Hudson calls the players “nine silly men” (2:33).  How would Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, or even Jim Bouton feel about that remark?

He even called baseball uniforms “costumes” (2:40), which is probably more apropos for the Antifa groups that dress in black, “demonstrating” for social justice.  At least the ballplayers have an objective when they don their garb: to win as a unit.  The black-hooded thugs’ mission is only chaos.

Along with the Dodgers hosting the “Perpetuals,” sports — at least Major League Baseball — are seeing more and more subtle and overt anti-Christian bias.

The New York Mets, at the center of a metropolitan area (NY, NJ, CT) that has more than 2.1 million Jews, has eliminated Jewish Heritage Night from its ethnic promotions, which include “Italian, Puerto Rican, Japanese, Korean, Irish, Dominican, and Mexican communities, along with Black Legacy and Pride celebrations.”  That’s an interesting deletion, since the Mets’ owner is Jewish.

Could the reason for the elimination of this particular event be a sop to the wife of star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who’s connected to Mayor Mamdani’s administration?

It may be brushed off as a conspiracy theory, but if the great game of baseball, an organization going back to the late 19th century and an integral part of U.S. history, culture, tradition, and language, is corrupted, American citizens should be concerned.  Communism, after all, is antithetical to the Constitution and the Catholic Church.

Fortunately, baseball fans should take heart: The Mets have had a record of 17-29 and plummeted from first to last in the NL East since Mamadani hugged of the team’s mascot.
