Sharp-eyed American Thinker readers may have noticed something new on our homepage. On the left side of the page, below the articles, is a new section labeled “Watch Now”:

If you click on the image on the left, you’ll be taken to the latest content from American Thinker. Currently, that’s just me, but I’ll soon be joined by podcasts from Alan Loncar, a super smart lawyer who comments on the passing political and legal scene. We plan to add other contributors in the near future.
This is what the American Thinker podcast page you’ll see looks like, with the newest podcasts on the left and past podcasts on the right.

Speaking of the American Thinker podcasts, I’ll be changing my podcasts a lot. When I first started, I promised readers that I would not flood the blog with podcasts, leaving less room for our traditional written content.
The only way I’ve been able to keep that promise is to do a single long podcast per week. Those long podcasts are tiring to create and edit, and I tend to fall back on the same tropes, rehashing things you’ve heard before. To my horror, I’m getting boring.
Now that I have an actual podcast area where I’m not worried about squeezing out American Thinker’s written content, I can do more frequent short podcasts focused on a single issue or story. That’ll be easier on me, and I hope it’ll be fresher and more interesting for both me and the audience.

If you click on the image on the right, you’ll be taken to a page where we’ve uploaded podcasts and videos from other sites that we recommend for one reason or another. Here’s what that page looks like:

All of you can help with that page. If you know of a video that you believe will interest American Thinker readers—that is, it is consistent with the topics we write about and the values we espouse—send a link to that video to [email protected]. Title it “ATTN: Andrea; Video Recommendation.” In one or two sentences, please let me know why you think it’s a good fit for us.
I’m very excited about the podcast page. That’s not just my ego speaking. Hosting podcasts is important if we’re to reach a larger audience with our conservative message.
As I learned long ago from a young conservative man (and as Barron Trump taught his father in the last campaign), young people aren’t readers. They watch and listen. We’ll still primarily be a written-word site, but we’d be foolish to ignore how political discourse in America has changed.
