An issue that shouldn’t be an issue is trans—particularly boys/men pretending to be girls/women—in female sports. Democrats have decided this is a hill they want to die on, in large part because it’s a good way to stick a thumb in the eyes of Normal Americans. In so doing, they’ve empowered plenty of mediocre male athletes, people who will never make the medal stand against males, but suddenly identify as female, and they’re winners.

Their support of the Trans Superiority Narrative—TSN–has led Democrats to make ludicrous assertions, such as claiming there are no differences between men and women, and that men have no athletic advantages over women. That’s demonstrably malicious nonsense, blatantly obvious in track and field:
Team USA sprinter Allyson Felix has the most World Championship medals in history, male or female, and is tied with Usain Bolt for the most World Championship golds. Her lifetime best in the 400 meters is 49.26 seconds. In 2018 alone, 275 high school boys ran faster on 783 occasions. The sex differential is even more pronounced in sports and events involving jumping. Team USA’s Vashti Cunningham has the American record for high school girls in the high jump at 6 feet, 41⁄2 inches. Last year just in California, 50 high school boys jumped higher. The sex differential isn’t the result of boys and men having a male gender identity, more resources, better training or superior discipline. It’s because they have androgenized bodies.
Now a high school boy in Washington State has jumped on the TSN bandwagon:
High school junior Logan Mihailoff ran a 5k race (just over 3 miles) on September 5, finishing 76th in the junior varsity race with a time of 23 minutes and 10 seconds. That is a decent pace for a male runner, but hardly elite level. (In contrast, the winner of the junior varsity race ran finished in 14 minutes and 28 seconds).
But then Mihailoff discovered the “Lia Thomas Trick” – say you are actually a woman and start beating up on female competitors.
A few weeks later, Milhailoff switched to the women’s JV race at the Nike Portland XC Invitational and finished in second place, with a time of 19 minutes and 16 seconds. By contrast, he would have finished around 137th place if he ran in the men’s JV race.
He wasn’t done with his stunning improvement, most of it driven by simply identifying as a male.
Again running as a woman, Milhailoff finished first place in a dual meet on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
School officials have thrown up their hands, citing Washington Interscholastic Activities Association—WIAA—rules that let students choose their gender and participate in female divisions. There is, of course, little or no issue with girls participating in boys’ sports, because they’d be crushed; there’s no competitive advantage. They’d instantly go from winning to defeat:

One of the inevitable consequences of the TSN is that it forces female athletes into choices they should never have to make: run against males and lose, or refuse to compete and play the trans game:

That’s just another sign of the derangement of the left in our society, forcing girls to lose the acclaim and accomplishment they’ve worked so long and hard to earn, and denying them scholarship opportunities if they want to continue their athletic careers in college.
There is nothing noble about trans ideology. They’re not morally superior, nor are those that enable them. Trans kids are mentally ill and are cynically using that illness for athletic advantage they haven’t earned and don’t deserve. Enabling and supporting that mental illness harms not only the afflicted kid, but everyone forced to play along with their illness, to pretend they’re normal, brave, and admirable. Any pretense of fair play in sports is abandoned when the TSN is upheld.
No one is arguing that trans ought to be forced to do anything. There is no “trans genocide,” and no sane American wishes them harm. All Normal Americans and female athletes ask only that trans leave female sports to females and that fair competition be restored.
With the advent of the second Trump Administration, much has been done to restore sanity by defending the right of females to compete only against females, but it’s a war that has yet to be won, particularly in blue states like Washington.
