The Cold War was a terrifying time for Americans and Russians alike, and let’s face it, pretty much the entire world. Yet the American people were patriotic and strongly supported their country. Some of the greatest films in American history came out of this period, like Rocky IV. Spare me the “that’s just propaganda.” It was a good movie about beating up Russians—chef’s kiss. And honestly, we could do well with some movies about beating up some Russians in modern times, and while they’re at it, throw in a little Iranian conflict for good measure. There once was a time when Americans were supportive of America, everything else be damned. Those were better times. But does this signal a bigger issue underneath? Yes. Obviously. But let me give you a few words on why.
What was one of the most effective ways the communists infiltrated pre-communist Russia? Well, if you dig just inches deeper than your high school history teacher did, you will find that they infiltrated the military enlisted ranks, and that after a while, they were able to infiltrate the middle class. Okay. So how do you get to the people who, at one point, were willing to fight and die to defend their country? Well, you demoralize them every chance you get. You spread propaganda as if they are losing the war; you even share propaganda directly from the opposing side with military members. You inflate the size of the defeat, you make them forget what they are fighting for, and you are there for them to pick up the pieces and promise to put it all back together.
Now, isn’t it interesting that a major leftist talking point recently is to push the idea that we are losing the Iran war and that World War III is imminent? It’s almost like the people who are self-proclaimed socialists—ya know, communists who are not in power—are trying to employ the old ideology of Marx and Lenin. But that is just one example. What about the middle class?

Well, I point to the only other issue that the communists are ostensibly worried about: “affordability.” Now isn’t that the darnedest thing? It’s like they are following a playbook. Oh wait.
And they have this magical plan to save the free world and make everyone dignified and liberated from the evil capitalists. But they have zero answers for why they didn’t do any of that under Joe Biden. But ya know, that wasn’t actual socialism. That was just giving millions of people “free” stuff, shutting down the entire economy, arresting people who leave their homes, and forcing government-mandated vaccines onto people. Yeah, you’re right, that’s not socialism. That’s full-on communism, so they have a point there. I guess you could argue, though, that communism wasn’t done right because they somehow lost power. Seems like a plan to say, “see, we’re not communist” and then, when they talk Republicans into just handing over the midterms, staging a full-on color revolution. But I digress; that is for tomorrow’s article.
My point: Bring back big ol’ American men beating up commies and America’s enemies, and stop electing them. There was nothing wrong with it then, and there is nothing wrong with it now. Americans need to love their country again. Give them something, and I mean anything, to love at this point.
