On Friday, President Trump banned CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House press pool.
This, in my opinion, was long overdue. These outlets, and others, are crap.
They are clearly mouthpieces for the DNC. It’s reported by the Media Research Center that 92% of media reporting of Donald Trump and the White House in the first 100 days of his second term was negative. This number has only abated slightly in the past year and half.
CNN, MSNOW and Politico have filed a federal lawsuit, claiming that their ban is a blatant First Amendment violation.
Today the press pool (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Fox News) unilaterally suspended all their coverage of the White House and the president.
Outstanding!
The White House should immediately work to re-jigger the entirety of the press pool. They should announce new “streaming outlets” as part of the “new” pool (where the majority of users get their news anyway), and that only two or three of the legacy outlets will be considered for the “new” pool. They can be the first two or three that step away from their current boycott of the president and White House.
China’s dictator, Xi Jinping, is scheduled to arrive in Washington D.C. on Wednesday as part of a bi-lateral trade and technology summit.
Imagine a more respectful press pool, without the jackals that normally use these meetings to undercut the president, and by extension, America.
Again, the American media have worked hand and glove with the Democrats for more than a generation. They are not a free and fair press, but the tip-of-the-spear of Democrat party narrative-crafting apparatus.
This moment in time, and the actions taken by these outlets present a “golden” opportunity to create a new thing, that’s more fair and balanced.
We (the president) should not let the tail wag the dog.
