Academia’s purpose was to advance human enlightenment, a noble pursuit no doubt. It is an institution that was established to train new generations of thinkers, using rigorous peer review and intense study to further human scholarship. Yet, in such an academic pursuit, we seem to have traded away our natural knowledge. In commissioning research, we’ve surrendered our common sense.

The thought occurred to me the other day when I saw a tweet on X, revealing the results of a “landmark Finnish study” which concluded that “a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents” succeeds “sex-alteration procedures.”

Well, no duh. How could there be any other result but that? Here’s what one commenter asked:

So… feeding into someone’s delusion in such a manner that their delusion becomes  permanent and irreversible… isn’t healthy?

And, here’s the tweet:

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.

As you can see, Finnish law includes health registries that no one can opt out of, so this is “the complete national picture” for the “trans” population—and the numbers are seriously disturbing:

[P]sychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.

Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.

The researchers could only draw one, overwhelming conclusion: “Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment,” and in fact, they increase dramatically.

If you take a child who’s having abnormal thoughts about being the opposite sex, common sense tells you that something’s wrong, and it’s a mental health issue. No study needed to tell us what we can plainly observe.

Yet, this isn’t to suggest at all that the Finnish study was an asinine product of academia, because the data and findings simply bolster our position that “trans care” is not care, but common sense would have said that we didn’t need a study to conclude and determine the obvious.

If you take a child already suffering from some sort of mental illness or (more obviously) a (sexual) trauma—and one saying they’re the opposite sex is irrefutable evidence of that because biological sex is irrefutable reality (leftardism notwithstanding)—and then pump that child full of synthetic hormones and mutilate his or her body to turn them into a literal Frankenstein monster, that mental health issue is going to be exaggerated. If the “health care” looks like this, it’s not health care, and you can guarantee serious mental issues will indeed, “rise sharply.”

How could any adult look down at their own body when it looks like that and feel comfortable with their body and capable of processing what they’re seeing on themselves, let alone a child?

Do we need studies to determine that pouring gasoline on a fire creates a “sharp rise” in temperature and flames?

Do we need studies to conclude that shooting a gun into a crowd results in a “sharp” rise in gun deaths?

Do we need studies to find that watering your lawn will produce a “sharp rise” in soil saturation?

Of course I’m being facetious, because the answers are inherently known.

Academia is supposed to enhance and develop our God-given intelligence, not diminish it—and when it does, then that’s not really academia anymore.
