In the 2024 presidential race, polling often showed Kamala Harris ahead of Donald Trump. Pollsters hoped to convince Normal American voters not to bother to vote. They already knew about massive election fraud, but they had to be convinced there was no point in voting because Kamala was, as Thanos said, inevitable.

Then Trump won every battleground state, the popular vote, and the Electoral College 312 to 226.

It’s a familiar pattern. Polling routinely shows Democrats beating Republicans, particularly when Democrats are in trouble, and virtually always because Republicans are using the underhanded tactic of letting them talk. In Texas, we’re told by a Texas Public Opinion Research Poll—TPOR—that James Talarico is leading Ken Paxton 47% to 44%.

Talarico, who looks a bit light in the loafers to Texans, has been talking for years, and Texans are noticing. For instance:

In one recent appearance on the Texas Take podcast, Talarico attempted to downplay his past support for gun control measures, insisting that “I’m not interested in taking anyone’s guns.”

But:

In a 2020 appearance as a surrogate for then-presidential candidate Joe Biden, Talarico said it “encourages violence against black sons and daughters” when President Donald Trump allows “weapons of war on our streets and in our classrooms.”

I seem to remember another Democrat, Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, who ran as a moderate but immediately imposed blatantly unconstitutional gun control measures upon election.

Talarico is now a real meat eater, recently filmed munching a big chunk of BBQ while wearing a Texas flag shirt, but in 2022, while wearing a mask (?!), announced his campaign was vegan to fight the “existential climate crisis.” These days, he’s all for developing Texas oil and gas, and ready to fight his own party over that, but his own previous words say the opposite, including mandating climate hoax curricula in public schools. He said, “Our trans community needs abortion care too.” Jesus was a radical feminist, and there are six genders. “God is non-binary.” “The American flag is a complicated symbol for most of us,” and of course, he’s for open borders.

In the church where Talarico was raised and remains closely associated, a very progressive Presbyterian church, kids can find books they can’t get in school libraries:

Books found in the St. Andrew’s catalog include the book ‘Gender Queer,’ which includes illustrations of oral sex and masturbation, and the book ‘All Boys Aren’t Blue,’ which discusses anal rape and incest.

‘This Book Is Gay,’ has a chapter on the ‘ins and outs of gay sex,’ while the book ‘Becoming Nicole’ tells the story of a gender-confused teen boy who identifies as a girl with the support of his family. In ‘The Courage to Be Queer,’ the author claims that ‘God is queer.’

Other books in the church catalog include ‘This Book is Gay,’ ‘Trans Kids, Our Kids: Stories and Resources from the Frontlines of the Movement for Transgender Youth,’ ‘Called OUT: The Voices and Gifts of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Presbyterians,’ ‘The Courage to Be Queer,’ and ‘Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family.’

Talarico’s campaign is smarting from reports he’s gay, but he tells us he has a girlfriend he refuses to identify, and who apparently hasn’t been photographed with him. According to one report, she’s:

Brianna Menard, 30, describes herself as a “committed vegan,” yoga buff and cat mom who likes “dancing the night away” at local gay bar Cheer Up Charlies in Austin.”

Talarico and desperate Democrat apologists have tried to explain away these and more Talarico self-immolating comments, but one doesn’t advocate such things in Texas if they want to get elected, yet Talarico is now leading Paxton?

According to the poll, about 1/3 of the Texans who voted for John Cornyn in the runoff are now switching parties and voting for–Talarico? Cornyn’s the guy who voted with Trump 99% of the time. His 1% votes with Democrats, like a big one for gun control, doomed him, but conservative Texans are voting Talarico, who is all in for the policies that sank Cornyn?

Luke Warford is TPOR’s owner and operator, and his client list is a catalog of the Left:

“The Agave Democratic Infrastructure Fund [founded by Warford] is making strategic investments that will help Democrats win in 2026 and inform a long-term strategy helping create the environment where Democrats can win in Texas — and building campaign infrastructure that lasts beyond any one election cycle.”

I suppose it’s possible a guy like that can run a completely non-partisan poll, but that’s about as likely as a BBQ-eating, non-binary God-worshiping, gun control-supporting Democrat with an invisible girlfriend who hangs out in gay bars being elected in Texas.

For Texans, Talarico is all hat and no cattle, and that’s just a baseline.
