With the midterms fast approaching, Democrats have realized they don’t sound anything like normal people. In fact, they sound downright crazy. That’s what AOC’s giggly faux-repudiation of “Woke 1” was all about. The new list of approved words has come out. There are no more “unhoused.” They’re “homeless” again. “Pregnant people” no longer exist, and “ justice-involved individuals” have become “criminals” again. Sort of.

It’s not going to work. They’ve been so crazy, so woke for so long, and aggressively, arrogantly so, that few, if any, Normal Americans are going to believe them. They  remember Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, who ran as a “moderate.” Even knowing there is no such thing as a moderate Democrat, Virginians hopefully gave it one more try, and the minute she took the oath, she went full Communist. No one is forgetting that.

There’s yet another reason Normal Americans probably won’t be fooled again, as The Who sang. Democrats—Communists—just can’t help themselves. No matter how hard they try to disguise their true nature, no matter how they struggle to pretend to be normal, sane Americans, they can’t escape who and what they are. New York Mayor Zhoran Mamdani just proved that with this tweet:

Relentlessly anti-police, anti-justice, anti-prisons, and pro-criminal, Mamdani couldn’t help but attack those he hates and will surely use this death as leverage to close Rikers Island, despite there being no ready replacement. Mamdani’s default concern was not for the safety of New Yorkers, or victims of crime, no, but sorrow over the death of this monster:

Mamdani’s default priorities aren’t going over well:

As of Thursday morning, Mamdani’s post has been viewed over 3.2 million times, with the majority of comments expressing outrage over Mamdani offering condolences to the inmate.

“I wonder if he was ‘deeply saddened’ by the murder this guy committed,” New York City Councilwoman Vicky Paladino wrote. “Can’t find a tweet about that one.”

“He’s sad that someone who murdered an innocent American with a meat cleaver is dead,” conservative commentator Eyal Yakoby posted. “What are we even doing?”

“Commie Mamdani is ‘deeply saddened’ that a guy who murdered a guy with a meat cleaver had a medical emergency in jail,” failed Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt said in response to the post. “We cannot have leaders who weep for murderers. WTF are we doing?”

“Cynthia” asks a rhetorical question on the minds of sane Americans:

There is, despite the rhetorical nature of the question, a concrete answer.

Normal Americans have no compassion for most criminals, and certainly not a career criminal who uses a meat cleaver to slaughter an innocent man. They have no compassion because they can imagine the horror and pain of that unprovoked death.

They are also sick and tired of crime and its consequences and of the politicians, prosecutors, and judges who coddle criminals. Criminals steal and destroy their possessions, things they worked long and hard to buy. Crime increases the cost of everything and raises insurance rates. Crime also makes them miserable and fearful. They, or people they know and care about, are assaulted, robbed, beaten, raped, even killed, and politicians seek “root causes.”

They watch dangerous, insane, murderous criminals released without bond, and watch the last vestiges of their sense of personal and community security vanish when those criminals commit more crimes, many within hours of their release. Their anger and helplessness are worsened when the criminals are illegal aliens who should never have been in this country.

What is seriously wrong with Zhoran Mamdani and Democrat politicians like him? That’s a book-length response, but briefly, he’s an Islamist/Marxist. He hates all Americans and America, and like all Islamists and Marxists, is dedicated to their destruction, to the “revolution.” He mourns a barbaric murderer because that spits in the eye of Normal Americans, of all that is good and true about America and Americans, whose compassion is reserved for the victims of crime, not the criminals.

Above all, he is sorrowful because he, like that murderer, is alien to American values, which include respect for life. Normal Americans are his enemy, and now that he has power, he’s going to use it to do as much damage to them as possible, to bring about the revolution the DSA is overtly proclaiming as their goal. It’s a revolution he’ll hasten by closing Rikers Island and thereby making it even more difficult to incarcerate people who ought to be locked up, and the key thrown away.

That’s what’s seriously wrong with Mandani and those like him. They are our sworn enemies, the enemies of life and decency and the Constitution that preserves them. He and they are arrogantly making that unmistakably clear.

We had better listen and take them at their word and intentions.
