President Donald J. Trump has delivered for Texas in ways that would have been dismissed as campaign talk only a few years ago.

Overtime pay is no longer taxed for about one in four Texas workers. Roughly four million seniors get a new deduction that shields Social Security from federal income tax. Average refunds hit $4,344, second highest in the nation. Rural health funding arrived at $281 million last year. Trump’s tax cuts protected 547,000 Texas jobs, $107 billion in state gross domestic product, and $51 billion in wages.
That is not rhetoric. That is money in pockets and factories staying open.
The Mexican border is no longer a punchline. For 15 straight months through July, the Trump administration released zero illegal aliens at the southern border. July apprehensions sat 94 percent below the Biden-Harris monthly average. Refugee admissions dropped nearly 90 percent from 2024 levels. Congress put $46.5 billion toward finishing the border wall, and Texas is slated for $7.5 billion to recoup the costs it absorbed during the Democrat open-border years.
These are concrete results, not press releases. Private capital followed America-first policy reforms.
Bristol Myers Squibb committed $2.3 billion in Houston. Toyota shifted Tacoma production to San Antonio with a $3.6 billion investment and 2,000 jobs instead of building in Mexico. SpaceX announced $16.8 billion for a semiconductor plant in Grimes County. Tesla added $3 billion at its Giga Texas plant. Vantage Data Centers pledged $25 billion in Shackelford County. MP Materials is putting more than $1.25 billion into rare-earth magnets in Northlake.
The list continues: Saronic in Brownsville, Micron in Sherman, FormFactor in Farmers Branch, USG in Orange, and a new oil refinery in Brownsville. That is the first one in nearly 50 years.
Violent crime fell 13 percent last year, including murder and rape. The 25 largest Texas jurisdictions all posted lower overall rates. Arlington homicides dropped 60 percent in the first half of 2026 versus the same period in 2025. Plano, Laredo, and Arlington landed in the national top 20 safest big cities.
Yet November looks troubling.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton beat decades-long incumbent US Senator John Cornyn in the monumentally expensive, and no less acidic, GOP primary. He now faces woke-and-proud blue state legislator James Talarico, who leads most recent surveys. Predictive models give Democrats the best chance of winning.
The Texan partisan lean has compressed from Trump’s 14-point 2024 margin to roughly even on the generic ballot. Paxton’s heavy personal and professional baggage has left him underperforming a generic Republican. However, even a normal red nominee would face strong headwinds.

Consider longtime incumbent Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican who walks a fine line between populist and establishment politics. He leads the progressive state lawmaker Gina Hinojosa by 45-40 in recent polling. This five-point edge would have been a landslide in 2014, 2018, or 2022.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, another long-term Republican incumbent, proclaimed a five-alarm fire. If Texas goes blue, that bodes horrendously for 2028. If the Lone Star State goes blue in two years, Republicans will struggle to elect another president because of the state’s 40 electoral votes. He and Senator Ted Cruz are staunch social and fiscal conservatives. They both said the “crazies” are out in force, warning of how red complacency could turn Texas into California.
They are not exaggerating.
Democrats, from city hall to Capitol Hill, are increasingly captured by third-worldist, communist-led young activists who style themselves “democratic socialists.” Their anti-Western, anti-white, and anti-Semitic current is not hidden. They despise the majority-white West because its relative wealth was purportedly stolen from the overwhelmingly nonwhite third world. Therefore, the race-communist goal is bleeding the West of capital so non-Westerners, especially Muslims, may revel in revenge.
If the blue team, effectively held hostage by its insurgent Zoomer and Millennial hard-leftists, takes the House, the Senate, or both, they will spend the next two years crippling the Trump administration. They will also kneecap every Republican running for president in 2028.
That is the Democrat plan. Pretending otherwise is self-delusion.
Republican voters who stay home in November are choosing America last. The Trump-era GOP’s accomplishments are remarkable. Just think of the lower taxes, sealed border, falling crime, and capital flooding into Texas instead of leaving for foreign lands. The blue side offers racial communism and the cancerous mismanagement that wrecked California.
This midterm season is the high-stakes test of whether voters actually value results. Republicans, and other sane Americans, should protect what has already been built and keep America from being handed to people who openly despise her. The results in Texas will set the tone for Congress, the White House, and every statehouse that still believes American strength is not a dirty word.
Just imagine what would happen if Lone Star country goes blue.
