I live in a Democrat-run state, county, and township. And it’s been that way for over 20 years. Over that time, I’ve seen the DNC take ownership of the healthcare issue nationally.

As the “Party of Compassion,” they pretty much succeeded in taking the high ground on the issue, even though their healthcare plans are specious. It’s a smoke-and-mirrors charade that the mainstream media will never acknowledge. It is up to the RNC to shine a very bright light on this particularly glaring failure of Democrat rule. And they have less than two and a half months to do it.
My own county is in the suburbs of a major US city. It is a largely blue-collar county and the poorest and most populous of the suburban counties around this city. It also has a very high number of retirees.
The issue that has been kicked to the corner here is that 15 years ago, our county had 6 major hospitals. We now have 2! And this occurred while Democrats controlled everything here! Moreover, it occurred during a Democrat-engineered, very sizable county population increase, largely due to the open-borders policy of the Biden regime.
The illegal aliens constituting this population increase were destitute and (coming as they did from countries with substandard healthcare) tended to be sick—with conditions and diseases that had been neglected in their home countries. As a result, wait times in our remaining ERs are now enormous. It also takes forever to get an appointment with a specialist. This is not solely due to the immigrant influx, but also because this influx occurred during our above-described hospital implosion. And the DNC nationally and statewide totally owns it.
Retirees are particularly aware of ER wait times and the long delays in seeing specialists. Wait times to see an orthopedic specialist, for example, are more than three months. That’s on the order of what, as a boy, I figured were the wait times endured by rural villagers in India. Except that this is the United States.

Retirees have ever-increasing health issues, and their fixed incomes make the issue even more pointed emotionally. On top of fears about health care availability, they are ironically hit with ever-increasing Medicare premiums and secondary insurance premiums.
And that last issue is curious because a part of its rise is attributable to the large number of uninsured flooding the system. And to layer salt on that cut, retiree Medicare premiums are indexed to their income—they get penalized for having saved their money during their working years! When I consider how the borders stayed open to “import” Democrat votes, I could cry and scream.
So why, I ask, is the RNC not laser-focused on this issue? It is a hot-button issue particularly for retirees, who are one of the most reliable voting blocs. I would strongly wager that the twin issues of declining health care availability (doctors, ERs, etc.) and increasing competition for health care are not just in my own county. They may very well be going on in yours!
So, if the MSM won’t talk about it, you should talk about it to whoever will listen. And start with Republican candidates running for election this coming November.
