Joe Biden was a disaster as president, though it’s difficult to know whether more damage would have been done had he been in charge. His Handlers did far more than enough damage pulling his strings, with the willing help of Dr. Jill. Still, people of good will can spare at least a bit of pity, and certainly prayers, for Biden and his family, and it appears they’re very much in need of both. Consider this Fox News report from December of 2025:

Democrats bayonet their wounded on the political battlefield. Joe Biden is no different. When his usefulness to them ended, every favor, every dollar dried up. The Biden Foundation hoped to raise $11.3 million of the $200 million needed by the end of 2027. That’s doubtful, though the Bidens continue to hope to build the library in Delaware:
Biden’s library team [of 13] has the daunting task of raising money for the 46th president’s legacy project at a moment when his party has become fragmented about the way ahead and many big Democratic donors have stopped writing checks.
Presidential libraries are built with private donations. Biden is no longer in a position to call in favors or grant them. His infirmities, evident even before his presidential run, are even more evident, as they were at a recent speech to an LGBTQ+ group:
Biden said: “We just have to get up. As long as we keep the faith … and remember who the hell we are. We’re the United States of Amerigotit, that’s who we are! We’re the U.S.!”
This is the understatement of this century thus far:
Biden’s speech and its stumble have reignited public and political scrutiny over his age, health, and communication abilities.
It’s reminiscent of this scene from his disastrous debate with Donald Trump:

Gaffes and obvious physical infirmity like that have dramatically curtailed his ability to make money from speeches. Biden now appears to be like professional athletes who make a lot of money, but burn through it like a drunken sailor at a port call, and end up with nothing, as Hunter Biden recently explained:
Hunter Biden claimed under oath earlier this year that he’s so broke he doesn’t even own a car or a cellphone, and said his family is too strapped for cash to help him pay off millions in unpaid legal bills.
Hunter explained he has no car, not even a phone, and no money. His family is in no better financial condition. Hunter will almost certainly never pay off his remaining legal debts.
But all of this may be moot, according to Hunter Biden from an August 8, 2026 Fox News Report:

Former President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread further since his diagnosis last year, his son Hunter Biden revealed in a BBC interview that aired Friday.
“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter told BBC Newsnight, describing his father’s condition as “very painful” and “very debilitating in many respects.”
“It’s really sad to watch,” Hunter said. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad about his health right now is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”
Joe Biden, by all accounts, was a mean, arrogant, pugnacious, cruel politician, a man of unrestrained appetites and ego, a man who used whatever power he had to enrich himself and his extended family. And when he was finally “elected” president with the largest number of votes in American history, larger even than Barack Obama’s vote totals, it was clear he was an empty shell, manipulated by his Handlers, who arguably enacted Obama’s third term using Biden as a doddering figurehead.
It also appears his family, used to living far beyond their means and enjoying the perks that came with being the family of a powerful and vengeful senator and later, a POTUS, cared primarily about getting more and more money and keeping their artificially elevated standard of living, no matter the cost to themselves or Joe. I’m surely not the only American who shook his head at what appeared to be the elder abuse of the POTUS.
And now, apparently suffering from stage IV cancer and in great pain, with Biden’s ability to fund his family long gone and little possibility of a presidential library, it’s tempting to say he and they got what they deserve.
Perhaps that’s true. But for now, compassionate people can spare a prayer for his suffering and the suffering of his family. Normal Americans don’t bayonet the wounded.
