I have long wondered if those who lived in pre-Revolutionary America knew somehow that they were living in capital-R Revolutionary times. What were they feeling in 1765, 1770, 1775? Did they know somehow, on some level, that a can’t-turn-back tipping point was near? The troubles were certainly ongoing. It’s not like they just woke up one day and wrote the Declaration to piss off King George. It had been building for quite a while, in very real and very lethal ways.

Are we in those times right now? And would we even know it if we were? Heaven knows our troubles have been brewing for a while. It’s almost daily that we are greeted with confirmation of corruption we pieced together years ago, but are only now getting official paperwork on. It’s as if the machinery of power is belching it out, too full for the table.
I thought it might be instructive to review just some of the treachery we’ve endured that’s gone unanswered. Mind you, this is just a partial list but it certainly reads like a “pre-Revolutionary” list to me.
2011: We learned about the ATF “gun walking” scandal Fast and Furious, when Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder purposely let guns “walk” into Mexico. One gun was implicated in the death of border agent, Brian Terry. Let’s be clear: Holder trusted the cartels with guns more than he trusted his fellow Americans. That’s what his actions told us. No government officials have been jailed or even indicted.
2012: Benghazi resulted in four dead Americans. Hillary Clinton smirked through her hearing. No government officials have been jailed or even indicted.
2013: Edward Snowden revealed the depth and breadth of the government’s illegal spying on Americans. No government officials have been jailed or even indicted.
2017: Now begins the years-long drip, drip, drip of the stories about who started the spying on Donald Trump before and after his first Inauguration. It’s a massive conspiracy that goes right into Obama’s Oval Office: this is inarguably true. Yet, no government officials have been jailed. Former FBI Director James Comey was finally indicted for related leaking, but the case was tossed out on a technicality.
2019: Trump’s first b.s. impeachment.
2020: COVID lockdowns and mandates. Civil liberties in blue states were absolutely gutted. We were lied to about the nature and implications of both the virus and the vax. (We’ll get to Fauci shortly.) People are killed, bankrupted, or permanently harmed in a myriad of ways. No government officials have been jailed or even indicted.
2021: Trump’s second b.s. impeachment — after he’s out of office!
2021: The Fedsurrection on January 6th results in a dragnet, thousands wide, where people are investigated, indicted, bankrupted, jailed and otherwise ruined. Ashli Babbitt and Rosanne Boyland lost their lives. No government officials have been jailed or even indicted for this massive abuse of power.
2023: Trump was indicted and arraigned in New York on b.s. criminal charges. It was just one of four cases brought against him on “novel” legal theories, which included an improperly predicated and armed raid on Mar-a-Lago, the first time a president’s home had ever been raided by the FBI. No government officials have been jailed or even indicted for this massive abuse of power.

2024: Trump was nearly killed by an assassin’s bullet in Butler, PA. Secret Service is known to have had massive failures that day, and while the director resigned, no government officials were fired or even disciplined as far as we know. There have been at least three attempts on the president’s life since.
2025: Activist judges are overturning/impeding Trump’s actions as Chief Executive at a record pace, exponentially outstripping all previous records of presidents thus encumbered. One case even involved the House passing legislation, which President Trump signed into law, to defund some abortion money, yet the judge still ruled the defunding illegal… even though it’s… the law. None of them are facing impeachment by the Republican House, though some, clearly, richly deserve it.
2026: Fauci, the neo-Mengele gnome, entered the ring with his 111x pleading of the Fifth. If his actions weren’t crimes against humanity — and not just COVID, but going all the way back to his involvement with AIDS — then the phrase has no meaning.
Again —- this is but a small portion of the subversions, betrayals and calumnies we’ve endured.
This is unsustainable. And we all know it. And I know I’m feeling it.
According to the American Psychological Association, anxiety is:
An emotion characterized by apprehension… in which an individual anticipates impending danger, catastrophe, or misfortune. … Anxiety is considered a future-oriented, long-acting response broadly focused on a diffuse threat, whereas fear is an appropriate, present-oriented, and short-lived response to a clearly identifiable and specific threat.
I’ve been feeling out of sorts for quite a long while now and only recently self-diagnosed it as anxiety — “anticipating” a “broad” threat — which is a new feeling for me. Though I think a good argument could be made that what we conservatives are feeling is genuine “fear” of a “clearly identifiable and specific threat” to our country and our way of life, so I guess there’s some wiggle room there. What I know for sure is that I’m out of sorts, and I thought writing about might be clarifying.
We are toeing some trouble here, aren’t we? And it’s clearly been building. To be sure, it’s been a great first year-and-a-half with Trump in power, but all it takes to feel an omnipresent sense of danger is to read that partial list of treachery and know that if we lose the midterms, some Frankenstein version of America will emerge. They’ve all but promised it.
In the meantime, Donald J. Trump is in the Oval Office, we have majorities on the Hill (for what they’re worth) and we have each other and this oasis of common sense in American Thinker. We can lean hard into that and secure Liberty. We can vote Republican in November as though our lives depend on it — even though these Trump-hating, foot-dragging RINOs don’t deserve it. Or we can get busy making musket balls. I don’t know which way this is going to go, but the tipping point feels imminent and very real, doesn’t it?
