After months of soft-focus airy-fairy propaganda about socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s warmth of collectivism for ‘the working class,’ the ugly coercive flipside of such socialism is now peeking out from the woodwork.

According to the New York Post, Mamdani has got a list:
Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration has published a searchable database of Big Apple properties that could fall under the state’s new pied-à-terre tax, effectively doxxing thousands of wealthy New Yorkers.
The city’s Department of Finance uploaded the comprehensive list – which purports to cover all unoccupied, non-primary residences in the five boroughs worth north of $1 million – including the full names and addresses of every property owner.
“It’s a reckless and foolish move, especially considering there are potentially thousands of properties on this list that do not qualify as second homes or whose owners will successfully dispute their inclusion,” Council Minority Leader David Carr (R-Staten Island) — whose own home appears on the list — told The Post Monday.
It reads like an ‘enemies of the people’ list, the way Lenin and Trotsky used to create, or for that matter, their ideological descendent, Hugo Chavez, who famously read, name by name, all the oilworkers he was firing for defying his program on Venezuelan radio.
As with those socialist tyrants, all sorts of people who don’t qualify even by Mamdani’s own standards, somehow got on the list, too, because this isn’t about throwing on new taxes in a name-and-shame game, it’s about creating a reign of terror among those who own property, no matter how modest and Archie Bunker-looking, in the City of New York. Property, as the lefties say, is theft, so it’s open season now.

He likes landlords even less than dual-homeowners.
How this can be legal, let alone precedented, which is what his team is claiming, is beyond me.

It’s amazingly coercive and vindictive, the kind of work only a communist can do, intended to foist jealousy, suspicion, and mob action on those with the temerity to own two properties in New York City, as if they had been depriving anyone else of owning properties by buying what they have.
A few rich leftists have gotten caught up in this list-making : Anna Wintour, Woody Allen, Cynthia Nixon, some of whom openly supported Mamdani. Should have thought more closely about that, comrades.
It’s obviously a sign that Mamdani isn’t altering his act as he settles into office, he’s intensifying it. With this enemies list, the mask is off and many New Yorkers are about to experience the coercive boot-on-face-stomping side of socialism. Good luck getting rid of him. Socialists like this have a history of naming themselves dictator for life.
