What do I think of on warm days? “Darn. It’s hot because it is summer.”
Then I think about how thankful I am that people discovered ways to use coal, natural gas, and oil so we could have air conditioning, and so many other things that contribute to our greater quality and longer lives.

I am thankful we live in the United States instead of Europe, where they block air conditioning. I think how great it is that Biden and Obama are not in office catering to green pushers like European politicians.
What do radical green pushers think about?
They think how we can use the temperatures to scare people into capitulating to their radical agenda. They think it is time to write another article blaming humans and our use of natural resources for warm temperatures.
Instead of green pushers (including Democrats) being called progressives, they should be called regressives, because they want to move the world backwards.
This article was just in my local paper:
Climate change ‘fingerprint’ seen in heat
Early July brought historic extreme weather for the fourth year in a row, and scientists again see the ‘fingerprint’ of climate change in a deadly Fourth of July.
Here are a few major highlights from this article:
It was warm this year during the July 4th holiday weekend—what a shock. The article said they had found 44 deaths related to heat. My guess is most of those people were old with other causes for the deaths. And, isn’t this a great argument against climate policies that will limit our energy usage or crank our thermostats up to 78°, like Zohran Mamdani dictated in New York City?
For perspective, around 8,500 people die each day in America, but the media is highlighting 44 deaths from heat-related causes. How many lives are saved each day because we have central air and heat? The media will never look for that information.
The article said the warmth would not have occurred without climate change. Somehow, they don’t admit that the climate has always changed cyclically and naturally, and they ignore that summer is the hot season.
Here are a few things the article will not have:
- Any scientific data that shows a direct relationship between the amount of oil, coal, and natural gas we use and temperatures, because there is none.
- Any mention of the global cooling period of 1940–1975 when our use of natural resources was rapidly increasing, because it doesn’t fit the agenda and it proves their premise is wrong.
- The admission that the heat index wasn’t used until 1979, which is about when the dire warnings on global cooling ended and the dire warnings of global warming began.
And nine years ago, in USA today on July 19th, 2018, we saw almost the exact same article: “CSI Earth: Human ‘fingerprints’ detected in Earth’s seasonal temperature changes.” Looks like they just mimeograph the same news, just like the UN sends out the same dire warnings, no matter how wrong their previous warnings have been.

Here is another article on July 11th right next to the heat article in my paper. Somehow, the natural phenomenon El Niño, which has existed for thousands of years at least, is overriding supposed human activity and blocking hurricanes, even though the false green talking points are that storms are getting worse every year: “Powerful El Niño will crush hurricane development, new outlook says.”
We’ve been told that warm ocean temperatures cause a more severe storm season, yet this year is expected to be weak. In April they predicted 13 named storms, and now they predict nine. They can’t accurately predict a few days or months out, yet we are told they can tell us with accuracy what the climate will be like in a hundred years. That is junk science! (The deadliest year ever for hurricanes was 1780 when 28,000 people died, which was long before the industrial revolution and “manmade climate change.”)
Oh no! The NYT is worried that a scientist who disagrees with them will be working for Trump:
Trump Administration Taps Climate Science Critic to Oversee Flagship Report
Matthew M. Wielicki has criticized the scientific consensus on global warming as alarmist. Now he’ll oversee a major federal report on the topic.
They need rubber stamp people like under the Obama and Biden administration.
Here are some facts for temperatures:
I live in Springfield, IL, and the warmest day ever was 72 years ago today at 112 degrees. Today it is 22 degrees cooler. The most 100-degree days occurred in 1936, with 29 days over 100. The last time Springfield was over 100 was in 2012.
The warmest day ever in New York City was 106 in 1936.
The year Washington D.C. had the most 100-degree days was 1930, when they had eleven.
The year Los Angeles had the most 100-degree days was 1939, when they had seven.
The year Minneapolis had the most 100-degree days was 1936, when they had nine.
The year Omaha had the most 100-degree days was 1936, when they had 41.
I have trouble believing that each year is the hottest ever, when so many records were during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s.
As with most things, the media pushes the Democrat agenda, no matter what. They repeat what they are told like puppets. Common sense and research are inconvenient when an agenda and power are all that matter.
