In the fantasy land of leftism, when a woman announces that she is a man, she is then a man. Most of these women, to align their female bodies with their masculine delusion, then begin hormone therapy—that is, they take testosterone. But still, some become pregnant (mostly because they mistakenly believe that testosterone is an effective birth control). And to no sane person’s surprise, it turns out that these pregnancies often end in miscarriage at a rate 3-4 times higher than average.

Leftism has created a world in which women who suffer from the dysphoric delusion that they are men are no longer referred for mental health therapy to help them come to terms with their bodies. Nor has anyone (other than me) ever suggested that they might get estrogen supplements to help encourage feelings of femininity. Instead, the medical establishment happily writes them prescriptions for testosterone to simulate a masculine body and to change their emotional range.

Women who take testosterone get thicker vocal cords for a deeper voice, more hair on their bodies and less on their heads, more muscle mass and belly fat, worsening cardiac health, and oily skin and acne. In addition, testosterone affects their reproductive organs. Their vaginal lining becomes thin, dry, and inelastic; they stop having periods; and they become less fertile but not infertile.

Unfortunately, many of these chemically-manipulated women believe that, because their periods have stopped, they are infertile. So, when some of them have sex with men—which is presumably something they view as a homosexual affair with another man who inserts his penis into their manly vagina (mangina?)—they end up pregnant.

Sadly, this does not necessarily mean that a new life is brought into the world, even if the women do not have abortions. Instead, these babies turn out to be very likely to be miscarried.

That’s the conclusion of a study in the Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, which looked at 44 studies about so-called “trans men” (that is, women) getting pregnant. I haven’t read the study, but “StudyFinds,” a site that reviews scientific literature, sums up the results this way:

Across those 44 studies, researchers estimated that roughly 6% to 9% of transmasculine people have been pregnant at some point, with roughly 4% to 9% having had a child. Those numbers may sound modest, but behind them sit real people making major reproductive decisions with almost no evidence to guide their care.

Miscarriage was the finding that stood out most. Across multiple studies, miscarriage rates among transmasculine people who became pregnant ranged from roughly 31% to 40%, and four out of five studies that reported this outcome landed in that elevated range. For comparison, background miscarriage rates in the general female population run closer to 11% to 22%.

While researchers don’t have a study specifically pointing to testosterone as the cause for this elevated miscarriage rate, the “duh” conclusion is that it probably plays a role:

Testosterone, a hormone many transmasculine people take as part of their medical transition, already stops menstruation and is considered potentially harmful to a developing baby. Current precautionary guidance recommends stopping it before attempting pregnancy because of concerns about fetal development. The review also found that people who had previously taken testosterone reported fewer conceptions than those who had never used it, even after stopping treatment for several months, although the reason remains unclear.

One of my memories from the 1970s is of academic studies showing that mother’s milk was good for babies. Lots of people joked about how ridiculous it was to spend money proving the obvious. However, they might have been missing something important.

Because of the huge push after WWII to have women use formula rather than breast-feeding for babies—a push that had gone on for around 25 years by the time of the studies—there was a large swath of the medical and lay community that no longer accepted the obvious about mother’s milk. It took studies and a culture shift to restore normalcy.

Maybe the same thing is happening here. It’s entirely possible that 25 years of trans madness in the medical community cannot be shifted simply by asking, “How stupid are you?” Instead, the people who have been nursed on scientific nonsense need to be returned to mental health with scientific reality.

Let’s hope that’s so. Let’s hope that fewer babies get a start in utero only to be overwhelmed and destroyed by the effect of hormones that have no place in a woman’s body.
