Just as despair over the polls for midterms threatens to dishearten conservatives, who should be spending big dollars to save the House and Senate from Democrats than Elon Musk himself.

Here’s the CNBC report:

Elon Musk spent more than $276 million in newly disclosed donations to Republican groups since July, making him the biggest known donor of the 2026 midterm election as the party fights to hold its majorities in Washington this November.

The largest share – $158 million – went to the Senate Leadership Fund, the main super PAC backing Republican Senate candidates, according to figures provided by Musk’s representatives to The New York Times and confirmed Monday to CNBC by Lindsey Curnutte, a spokesperson for Musk’s America PAC.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO also gave more than $76 million to America PAC, the group he founded during the 2024 election, which has built a large voter-turnout operation in competitive Senate and House races.

The new contributions bring Musk’s known federal political giving for the 2025-26 cycle to roughly $366 million, already surpassing the approximately $290 million he spent during the 2024 presidential election.

That’s good news, because Democrats aren’t shelling out.

According to this report from Howie Kurtz:

Look! Charlie Cook is moving 18 House races in the Democrats’ favor! This is o-vah! The blue wave is getting stronger. Put a cork in this one, it’s done!

But wait a minute. The Republicans have a huge cash advantage. Big-time Democratic donors, for whatever reason, are sitting on their checkbooks. Don’t they realize the stakes? Are they all blinded by the sun on their private islands?

Throw in Kamala Harris’s blown billion in the last election, which left her campaign — and the Democrats — in debt, the renewed scrutiny on ActBlue with its poorly monitored foreign donations, and the shutdown of USAID, which through various cutouts funneled a lot of money to Democrats and the money picture is very ugly for Democrats.

They aren’t donating.

But Elon is.

They may still win, of course, with media bias still going for them, but not everyone is convinced it will be a big victory, given their capture by the radical left including the Democratic Socialists of America. And some are convinced they won’t win at all — which may include Elon.

Elon would have good reason for wanting to save the House and Senate, given that besides going after President Trump, Democrats also plan to plunder ‘billionaires’ which would certainly be in Musk’s wheelhouse.

In California, they’ve even got a measure out, Prop. 40, which would subject “billionaires” to supposedly one-time five percent wealth tax — and would allow the taxing of everyone else, based on the sneaky little riders embedded in. It’s actually leading in the polls, and has already driven many billionaires to Texas and Florida ahead of elections.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, for his part, says he favors not Prop. 40 but a nationwide billionaire’s tax so that billionaires cannot move to states with better policies, but will be trapped in California-style rule no matter where they move. Don’t think other Democrats aren’t thinking the same thing.

Meanwhile, California congressional candidates, such as the annoying leftist Marni von Wilpert who’s running in California, earnestly rage against Trump and his supposed ‘tax cuts for billionaires’ and vow to bring the money “home,” meaning, redirecting federal cash to her trusty NGOs and union backers, not back to the beleagured taxpayers who were fleeced, whom she seems to think are all billionaires.

Her claims about Trump cutting health care for “millions of Californians” is a reference to Trump’s cutting free health care for illegal aliens while the rest of us make house-payment-sized health care premiums to pay for the foreign free riders.

Other Democrats on the DSA side of the spectrum are even crazier.

It’s a good thing that Elon is shelling out to fight back. One can only hope that this kind of money is not wasted and the message will get out to the public that Democrats are not going to make things better. They are, in point of fact, going to make things much worse. Elon knows this. The voters need to know it, too.
