As we see from coast to coast, the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) is generally winning in so-called blue districts. It gets more complicated when they are running against a viable GOP candidate or in a competitive arena, i.e., Michigan and Florida.

The big problem is for people living in our blue cities, where they may end up with a leftist, like Seattle and New York City. Let’s check this out from Mark Serrano:
As recently published in Brookings Institution research anotes, “DSA candidates are largely winning in places that are already liberal and Democratic.” Meanwhile, the Democratic Party’s embrace of radical candidates is creating headwinds for its nominees in competitive House and Senate races, who must distance themselves from policy positions anathema to independent voters without alienating their own base.
Across the country, the far left is getting louder and bolder, but its victories are limited to the areas Democrats already control.
So, should you worry? If you live in a deep-blue city where a DSA mayor can actually govern, yes, because there’s no general election left to save you. Everywhere else, the socialists should be a layup for Republicans this November, so long as we force Democratic candidates to wear Mamdani and his ilk like an albatross around their necks.

Yes, if you live in a blue city, then get ready for one of these types becoming your mayor. There is no general election to check them, and the city council is probably just as crazy, such as in Minneapolis or Seattle.
Where does that leave the people in blue cities? Some will move out and find a little sanity in the suburbs. Businesses will pack up to look for more friendly terrain. City schools will continue to decline, and some parents will take on an extra job to send their kids to a private option. Crime will rise as more and more friendly DSA judges put criminals out in the streets. It will be a disaster for more and more good people stuck in these cities.
In other words, these DSA candidates will expand the divide between cities and suburbs and rural areas.
