The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has sunk its claws deep into the heart of American higher education, and Harvard University has been exposed as the clearest proof.

This obviously is not some distant foreign problem.  It is a direct assault on the institution that trains our future leaders, innovators, and decision-makers.  A joint investigation by the GOP-run House Education and Workforce Committee, and the Select Committee on China, lays bare how Harvard repeatedly put cash and access from Beijing ahead of everything else.

The newly released details are damning, and they demand an unflinching response.

Harvard a nonprofit called Harvard Global that openly advertised itself as a way to handle foreign money when the university could not accept certain terms for legal or financial reasons.  After investigators flagged the language, the university scrubbed it from the website.

At the same time, the Chan School of Public Health ran executive education sessions that appear to have included participants from a Chinese paramilitary group.  This collective was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury for its role in the genocide against the Uyghur people.

When questions arose, the first worry expressed by Harvard was not whether American law had been broken or whether the university had aided human rights–abusers.  It was how the story might hurt the institution’s relationship with the Chinese government.

A senior compliance official could not even himself to state plainly that China is committing genocide against the Uyghurs until he consulted lawyers.  The best he could manage afterward was that he did not dispute the claim.  Another compliance official refused to rule out research partnerships with the Chinese military.

These are not isolated lapses.  They reveal an Ivy League university that has grown comfortable treating American national security as secondary to lucrative ties with a hostile power.

Harvard researchers have papers with universities tied directly to China’s defense apparatus, including institutions restricted by Uncle Sam.  Work on soft robotics for deep-sea exploration, magnetic materials, and other dual-use technologies has flowed to entities whose primary mission is advancing the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

One former Harvard professor who took Chinese money under a talent recruitment program later rebuilt his lab in China.  He now contributes to brain-computer interface research with clear military potential.  The pattern is systemic: CCP money flows in, standards erode, and U.S. research gets shared with those who will use it against Americans.

This corruption does not stop at campus gates.  The same CCP that buys influence at Harvard, an internationally-recognized leftist bastion, also pours money into Democrat campaigns across the country.

Community groups linked to the CCP’s United Front Work Department have funneled donations for decades.  The overwhelming majority go to Democrats.  The process has been moving along since at least 1990.  In New York alone, leaders of these groups backed 133 Democrat candidates versus 39 Republicans.  Tens of thousands of dollars were sent to figures like Hillary Clinton; Kathy Hochul; and Grace Meng, a congresswoman.

Pin Ni, an executive tied to a Chinese firm that openly follows the CCP, has given hundreds of thousands to Democrat candidates and committees in this pivotal midterm cycle.  That includes large sums to U.S. Senate contenders and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.  One of the candidates who received Ni’s cash is Roy Cooper, running for a GOP-held senatorial seat in North Carolina.

On top of all this, Ni chairs the Chicago chapter of the China General Chamber of Commerce.  That organization has been identified as advancing the CCP’s united front influence strategy abroad.

In California, individuals connected to the United Front have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into the accounts of Gavin Newsom and other Democrats, including Attorney General Rob Bonta.  A substantial share of this money originated with Dominic Ng and Simon Pang.  These are Southern California bankers linked to the CCP’s global apparatus for cultivating influence, which conducts operations on Beijing’s behalf.

In addition, senior employees of companies repeatedly flagged for close collaborative relationships with the CCP have contributed well over $200,000 to California Democrats.  These blue politicians serve at every level of government.  Firms include BYD, Baidu, Alibaba, ByteDance, Huawei, Tencent, DeHeng, and Wanxiang.

Senior staff, at enterprises the Pentagon has labeled Chinese military companies, have directed roughly $2.6 million to Democrat committees since 2020.  Donors include executives, top lawyers, lobbyists, and other key figures.  Major sums were directed to Joe Biden–linked vehicles, the Democratic National Committee, and Kamala Harris.  Other recipients worth mentioning are Adam Schiff; Nancy Pelosi; and, to no great shock, Newsom.

The Department of War determined that the employers of those donors provide assistance to the PLA through China’s military-civil fusion strategy.

The connection is obvious and intentional.  The CCP cultivates influence where it finds the least resistance.  The blue party has become that soft target.  It grows softer due to hard-left forces that traffic in third-worldism, race-based grievance, and open hostility to America herself.  Anti-Western, anti-white, and antisemitic attitudes, masquerading as “democratic socialism,” now surge through the Democrat ranks.

The most dedicated blue insurgents are avowed communists, almost entirely in their late teens to mid-40s.

These are no longer fringe elements, confined to some Reddit board or college town bookshop.  They increasingly define the Democrat future, along with the blue willingness to ignore or excuse threats from Beijing.

The danger to America is severe and immediate.

If Democrats seize the U.S. House, the Senate, or both in the November midterms, they will move aggressively to hobble Republicans.  Congressional investigations, like the one which revealed CCP forces at Harvard, will be quashed with a fiery vengeance.  Congressional Democrats would furthermore slow or block the President Donald J. Trump administration’s efforts to restrict Chinese influence and conduct appropriate foreign policy.

At the same time, Democrats will create every possible obstacle for Republican presidential contenders heading into 2028.  The result will be paralysis where resolve is needed and surrender where strength is required.  Since the blue party, on account of its leftist insurgency, has mounting internal fractures, there is maximum incentive to use all things GOP as a scapegoat, or as some tool for superficially quelling Democrat-on-Democrat cage fights.

Republican voters cannot afford to sit the midterms out.

Staying home in November means knowingly and willfully choosing America last.  The red progress already made in exposing the CCP should be protected.  Harvard’s failures show what happens when elite institutions stop defending American interests.  The same pattern is playing out in national politics.

The CCP understands this.  GOP voters should understand it, too, and act accordingly.
