Who told impeachment-enthusiast Alexander Vindman that running for the Senate in the state of Florida was a good idea?

Not the voters, who gave Trump a 13-point margin win in 2024.

Running as a Democrat after claiming to be a lifelong Republican during his anti-Trump machinations at the National Security Council, Vindman bombed in Florida’s Senate primary, losing by a 137,727 vote margin to a DSA clown who enjoyed blowing a bullhorn around the Florida statehouse.

This, after he outspent her 16 to one, the Washington swamp and its billionaire cohorts padding his coffers, only to see it circle the drain.

What an achievement.

Apparently, he was as smug, arrogant, and sanctimonious with Florida’s voters as he was with President Trump and his White House, refusing to campaign, refusing to debate, and the land of Floriduh Man didn’t take that well, even on the leftside.

Former press secretary to Gov. Ron DeSantis, Christina Pushaw, laid out the scope of the problem:

Seeing too many hot takes from the DC punditocracy who claim that Angie Nixon defeated Alex Vindman because socialism is so popular nowadays. Well I’m sure it is in some states, but NOT in Florida.

So arrogance, sanctimony, and refusal to act like a candidate interested in voters and their concerns did him in, an amazing string of failures for a candidate on a big dollar budget and all the consultants he could use. Odds are good that his nutty competitor, Angie Nixon, spouted the DSA line about affordability while he, wittingly or not, was only offering Get Trump to voters, with a side of Ukraine war. Sound like a winner? Probably for a small sliver of NeverTrump Republicans and no one else.

Florida was full of interesting voting results and all of them were good:

Two HUGE stories out of Florida:

1. Byron Donalds is on his way to becoming its 1st Black governor
2. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz pissed off Black voters after running (and winning) against 4 Black candidates in a historically-Black district. But whatabout voter suppression? pic.twitter.com/qXChRUdX3Y

BTW … Byron Donalds won the under 35 youth vote with 32.6%. Whoops. https://t.co/STLHumwsYd

Florida already is a state that can be called the wave of the future, given its attractiveness to citizens fleeing blue states as well as Latin Americans coming to the U.S. to get re-rooted. In time, we can only hope that it’s ruling the U.S. And the message sent from that Sunshine State is that Alexander Vindman and his revolting Trump-hate agenda will have no part of it.
