Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has come up with a great idea: A food show on YouTube to show Americans how to eat healthy, even on a budget, with each meal costing $5 or less per serving.

He’s going to travel the country, meet with good regional chefs, have each chef demonstrate what he knows, complete with cooking hacks, and techniques on how to eat healthy on a budget, and with these appealing presentations, Make America Healthy Again.
According to the HHS website:
The Real Food Show is a new cooking series hosted by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that makes healthy, affordable cooking simple and accessible for every American. Inspired by President Trump’s Make America Healthy Again agenda, Secretary Kennedy is bringing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans to life and showing that cooking with real food can be practical, approachable, and affordable for every family. Every episode is packed with affordable, budget-friendly recipes and easy cooking techniques designed to save you time and money. Plus, you’ll get practical nutrition advice to help fuel your family, all while watching incredible special guests whip up their favorite healthy signature dishes right alongside Secretary Kennedy.
No politics. No fat-shaming. No French la-dee-da pretensions. Just demonstrations of how to eat healthy without blowing one’s budget.
I can’t think of a better way of changing the food culture in this country, encouraging Americans to eat healthy food instead of trash which is key to rejecting obesity and all its health problems. Politicians have been moving for years into popular podcasts, music videos, ai videos and the like. Why not a food show, too?
It probably didn’t cost nothing to produce, but I doubt it was expensive, a very good and economical use of government money to enact a policy change reflective of the new food pyramid that Kennedy has established to combat the obesity epidemic and its health problems, as well as the disgusting influence of Big Food lobbyists who are constantly promoting processed food that guarantees obesity.

Messaging like this, which is necessary to change a long-running negative cultural trend, was likely borrowed from Chilean economist Jose Piñera’s approach to selling Chileans on the Chile Model for private savings accounts in the late 1970s — which is a much better retirement approach than social security. The Chilean Model of private accounts pays better than government accounts and stops dead the multi-billion-dollar benefit fraud we have been seeing today. Back then, Pinera, who was then Chile’s labor minister, went on the radio night after night to explain the benefits of private savings accounts, despite being constantly lectured by ‘experts’ that the public would never buy them. But he ignored them, and kept explaining the economic concepts of the proposed new system over and over in different ways and by the time the referendum came around, they most certainly did vote for it, by a much greater margin than forecast. The Chileans have never stopped supporting it, despite many leftist attempts to take it down and go back to a government system. That’s the power of a good use of media to inform and enlighten the public.
We see the same with Bobby Kennedy, who understands the concept well.
His first show is a terrific one with chef Andrew Gruel in Huntington Beach, California, who demonstrated his tips for making a healthy meal of salmon cakes, with a side of arugula-and-bean salad and a homemade vinagrette for the public, a restaurant-quality meal if there ever was one.
Gruel wanted to emphasize the importance of eating American-caught seafood, which is the healthiest (and most sustainable), and Kennedy even wore a red tie with little fish on it.
Gruel put Bobby to work on the prep tasks while he explained the importance of various taste balances and healthy fats for making food taste good. He even spoke of his own health history of eating junk food and getting sick as a result of it, ending up in the cooking profession and learning about eating the right foods as a health restorative. He had practical advice on knives and knife sharpening, and an amusing tip on getting kids to eat their vegetables — have the kids prepare the veggies and they will always eat what they have created.
It’s an amazingly wonderful reflection on Kennedy, on the Trump administration which just lets Bobby do his thing, and the effort to change the intractible, addictive, junk food culture here in the states that is making so many Americans fat. It’s delightful, useful, and directly beneficial to the American public.
