Anthony Fauci directed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for almost 40 years. Today, he stands as the embodiment of a bureaucracy that answers to no one.

In late July, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released 1,141 pages of Fauci’s personal diary covering December 2019 through December 2022. Those pages expose the gap between what Fauci knew and what he told the country.
On January 26, 2020, he wrote that the first COVID-19 infection occurred early in December and was not connected to China’s infamous Wuhan market. He described the market as an amplifier, not the origin. On February 1, he recorded notes from a conference call with a dozen researchers. Most of them believed deliberate laboratory engineering was possible. Only two supported pure natural evolution.
Paul correctly stated that Fauci’s private assessment and his public messaging were two different stories. That private knowledge never stopped the public deception.
Fauci had overseen grants that funneled American tax dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He helped shape a key paper that dismissed the laboratory origin theory of COVID. Then, Fauci promoted it at press conferences without disclosing his own role. He also failed to mention the multimillion-dollar grant he later approved for one of this paper’s authors.
The cover-up cleared the path for mask mandates, vaccine imperatives, and prolonged school closures that tore America’s social fabric and wrecked her economy.
In 2022, Fauci told CNN he was very happy to testify before any congressional oversight committee. He insisted he had nothing to hide and would cooperate fully because everything he had done could be explained and validated. Four years later, those words were exposed as empty.
On July 29, 2026, under subpoena before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times. To nearly every substantive question about pandemic origins, gain-of-function research, and policy decisions, he answered with the same scripted refusal.
He accused Chairman Paul of an obsession with calling for his prosecution and claimed the hearing existed solely to embarrass and intimidate him. Unsurprisingly, Democrats on the panel rushed to shield Fauci.
They praised his more than 50 years under Uncle Sam, called the hearing a politically motivated trap designed to entrap him, and accused Republicans of seeking to legitimize a predetermined conclusion. They asked him nothing of substance and instead attacked the Donald J. Trump administration.
This is the same party that once placed Fauci on a pedestal. In May 2020, then-Senator Kamala Harris declared on national television: “Thank God for Dr. Fauci.” She framed him as a courageous truth-teller who prioritized the well-being of the American people over political pressure. Innumerable other blue partisans elevated Fauci to godlike status, demonizing his detractors. Democrats lionized him when it served their purposes. They still defend him now.

The identical pattern of concealment and elite protection appears in Uncle Sam’s handling of foreign election interference.
Newly declassified documents reveal that China and its proxies bought, stole, or hacked voter registration data on as many as 220 million Americans, including private information. The government’s official definition of election interference includes a foreign power targeting voter registration infrastructure or data. Federal agencies flagged a Chinese computer network that acquired voter data stored on commercial websites in 2022.
They knew the breach affected at least 18 states yet withheld the full assessment from Trump and the public for years. One analyst admitted deliberately massaging the presidential daily brief to avoid any direct links to the election. An FBI official described running a shadow government across the bureau to keep the information suppressed.
The double standard is indefensible.
When China obtained similar data on British voters, the Biden-Harris administration responded with sanctions and criminal charges. When Iranian hackers took just 100,000 American voter files, the Justice Department brought indictments. When China hit 220 million Americans, the same officials stayed silent and covered it up.
These are not separate failures. They are the same disease: an unaccountable Democrat-run administrative state that hides facts, protects its own, and treats the public as subjects rather than citizens.
President Trump is determined to force the truth into the open and impose real consequences. That effort is the direct antidote to the blue culture that produced Anthony Fauci’s reign and the suppressed election intelligence alike.
Accountability ends if Democrats seize one or both houses of Congress this autumn. They will block Republican inquiries, shield blue officials who misled America, and champion elite immunity. GOP voters should see that showing up at the polls is vital. It is the only way to prevent a return to the Democratic system of deception and impunity that has already cost the nation so much.
The record is public. The stakes are glaring. The red response should be decisive.
