If someone wanted to explore the implications of long-buried events and current initiatives on the American political scene, a cursory review would reveal a catalog of disturbing strategies, tactics, and philosophies. And the outcome of that inquiry would likely generate an ominous conclusion: there is an enemy within.

That judgment would not solely be focused on the most recent carnival barkers who ushered in millions of unvetted non-citizens during Biden’s “come one, come all” un-border festival. It would also expose past acts of elected officials as well as contemporary left-wing political proposals.
Many of the left’s unspoken campaign strategies, with some variations, have been centered around an overarching concept: locate a disfavored (for whatever contemptible reasons) minority group whose denigration will titillate the ignorant masses, isolate the targeted, enlist fellow media travelers to act as a collective bullhorn to amplify the distortions, and “tell a lie long enough and it becomes truth.”
During the past 150 years, we have seen many ethical and Constitutional principles turned completely on their heads by any number of politicians. Although the compelling theory behind our founding charter was to slow or halt adoption of the worst governing philosophies, we have repeatedly witnessed elected officials’ lust for power and dominance override and shove aside “greater good” concepts. In doing so, votes cast held a mirror up to officials’ core beliefs, wisdom, and judgment… or the lack thereof.
Nonetheless, officeholders who have been motivated by societal, rather than personal, benefits have existed and some still do. Recall that President Theodore Roosevelt was a man who deliberated on the greater good and vigorously pursued it. He once said, “A man who is good enough to shed his blood for the country is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards. More than that, no man is entitled to, and less than that, no man shall have, without regard to race, creed, or color.”
Many in Congress agreed and the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments were embraced in an attempt to level U.S. racial relations. Yet, it was understood that no one was ever going to be able to legislate attitudes into submission.
Unfortunately, this truism has been exploited to solidify political support among leftists who were not, shall we say, striving to advance the cause of humanity. To be sure, it cannot be said that the Democrats completely rejected Roosevelt’s doctrine, at least during campaigns. But when political power was in play, they were not quite so principled. For example:
19th-century’s history illustrates that the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was allied with and recruited from Democrat constituencies. The Klan opposed desegregation, racial equality, extending political and civil rights, used lynchings and cross burnings to intimidate and threaten blacks. In the post-Reconstruction era, the Klan helped foster Jim Crow laws to exclude blacks from transportation, schools, parks, and restrooms. The Klan was also a significant participant in creating poll taxes and literacy tests to impede blacks’ rights to vote.
Moreover, the 1960’s Civil Rights legislation was opposed and led by Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, the Senate Majority Leader. In earlier years he served as Exalted Cyclops in the KKK and recruited for the organization. Also opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were Senator Al Gore Sr., who filibustered and voted against the legislation as did Senator William Fulbright of Arkansas. To many, those filibustering and voting in the U.S. Senate against legislation to engender racial equality were actual promoters of white supremacy.

Ultimately, better angels prevailed and the Civil Rights Acts were approved. Nonetheless, in 2026 we have been treated to the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) indictment for directing $4.1 million in donations to purchase KKK robes and materials for cross burnings. It seems the SPLC doom-sayers were not “monitoring hate” as they claimed, but fomenting it for fund raising purposes to prove that racism was still predominant in the U.S., even though it is not.
The record shows U.S. society has largely turned its back on vile discrimination as attitudes shifted over the decades. As such, the U.S. elected a black president, black judges became justices on the United States Supreme Court, scores of blacks became members of the U.S. Congress, and a black was chosen to be chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Even so, President Obama pretended the U.S. was still operating as if it were 1865 when he said “we’re going to fundamentally change this country.”
A few years later, the race card had been overdrawn as was obvious to all, so Democrats pivoted to reinvigorate an old nemesis: the Jews. Antisemitism has always been a winner in bigoted circles; very recently, chants of “no aid to Israel” and “from the river to the sea” echoed throughout America. Leftist politicos emphatically stated Israel has no right to exist. A Maine democrat U.S. Senate candidate sported a NAZI tattoo of the SS, whose ranks oversaw WWII concentration camp gas chambers. Democrat socialist candidates interviewed on national news espoused that 9/11 was America’s fault and the U.S. is an “effing disgrace.” New York City Mayor Mamdani announced that at this year’s 9/11 Memorial, he’ll read the names of the pilots who flew the suicide missions.
But the left sought an even bigger tent, so they found a new group to invigorate the faithful. In 2026, they have now thrown in with the “aggrieved.” Who qualifies for their support? Those who seek to abolish prisons, end deportations of violent, convicted criminals, believe borders are racist, support voting rights for illegal immigrants and stopping voter IDs, eliminating private property, and nationalizing airlines (for those Department of Motor Vehicles admirers). The icing on the cake: apologize for being white.
The elected officials and crop of candidates that campaign on these notions are cheerleading for acts of moral bankruptcy. They do not focus on U.S. cultural assimilation or encourage what most consider to be the backbone of the highest values: integrity, industriousness, justice, accountability, or loyalty. In contrast, they are fixated on creating a dependent underclass as handouts become even more of the norm. They offer no solutions but oppose the model that led to the U.S. becoming the freest, most prosperous, and militarily powerful nation on earth.
When asked whether there is another country where they would rather live today than the United States, a survey found that 55 percent of Democrats answered “yes.” They are not shy about spouting their hatred for America, want to normalize illegality, and yet they never leave.
It can be argued that those who advocate for these policies have already tarnished continued U.S. development. The West’s survival, not just in America but worldwide, is endangered the more like-minded candidates are voted in by an uninformed or apathetic public. If the left wing in the U.S. takes the majority in Congress and on the United States Supreme Court, we are in for an extended era not based on jurisprudence and economic growth but a collective shrug, saying “We’ll allow it.”
