A major problem in America is that the left still has a chokehold on the news. While distrust of the media may be at an all-time high (only 25%-28% of Americans trust the news), they still tune in. Between them, ABC, NBC, and CBS still get a combined audience of about 17.6 million Americans, while the New York Times, U.S. News, and Yahoo (which retails stories only from leftist outlets) completely dominate news websites and apps. Despite people’s claimed distrust of the old-time (leftist) media, it still controls what people know…and what they don’t know.

Some of the media sins are outright misrepresentations. Others are the media’s manic focus on frivolous stories. Thus, the media are obsessed with the reflecting pool, to the exclusion of other news.
But the media’s main sin isn’t what they can report, which at least can be rebutted; instead, it’s what they hide from view. For example, they flooded their audience when Israel dared to detain Greta Thunberg and comrades when their “Gaza flotilla” entered Israeli waters for hostile purposes, politely tried to have them watch actual footage from October 7, and sent them home. Meanwhile, that same flotilla has been held captive for weeks in Libya, but as David Strom writes, “No Jews, No News.”
The past 30 days, however, have provided two egregious cases of media silence that might be useful to persuade somewhat receptive Democrats that they’ve been living in a world of lies of omission.
The worst recent media lie of omission concerns Rupert Lowe’s Rape Gang Inquiry, released on June 16:

It’s based on first-person interviews and crime database analyses, and asserts that since 1951, mostly Muslim gangs (85% of which are comprised of men with Muslim names) have sexually trafficked in sadistic ways 250,000 British girls and women. The Rotherham scandal, which no one in Britain can deny, is a microcosm of a systemic, decades-long mass atrocity that the government ignored or condoned
The report is newsworthy, whether it’s true or a dishonest calumny against Britain’s Muslims. And yet… Here’s what ChatGPT dug up when I asked it to find how the major media outlets have reported on the story as of today:

They haven’t even tried to rebut it. They’re ignoring it completely.
The same is true for the December 3, 2025, murder of Henry Nowak, which has become a massive cause célèbres in the UK. He was a nice 18-year-old who had the misfortune to cross paths with Vickrum Singh Digwa, the son of Sikh Indian immigrants.

While ordinary Brits are not allowed to carry knives, Sikhs are, and Digwa used the knife to stab Nowak four times in the chest. When the police arrived, Nowak was bleeding out and clearly unable to breathe. Digwa claimed the stabbing was necessary because Nowak said racist things to him. The police responded by cuffing Nowak and leaving him to die in a pool of his own blood, while extending solicitude to Digwa.
The story of Nowak’s death hit social media on May 14, 2026, inspiring outrage against the British police. It was a big story in social and conservative media:
However, the same leftist media that literally set America on fire when a convicted felon who’d passed counterfeit bills and ingested a fatal amount of fentanyl died in police custody because a hostile mob wouldn’t let an ambulance get to him, covered it only weeks later and very reluctantly.
