“…the world is in greater peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil than from those who actually commit it.” – Albert Einstein, in 1958, writing approvingly of cellist Pablo Casals.

Einstein was right. Evil is sufficiently powerful that relatively small numbers of evil people can overtake and destroy entire societies. It metastasizes when the general population is initially too disinterested to oppose it while they still can, and then too cowed to stop it. Let us hope that, in the decades to come, New York City’s recent election, which saw Democratic Socialists of America (“DSA”) sweep the board, will not be looked upon as Exhibit A in America’s fall to Islamosocialism.

In early 1917, when the Bolsheviks deposed the Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, they were only about 0.014% of the Russian population. By late 1917, when they took over the Russian system entirely, instituting 73 years of one of the cruelest regimes in modern history, they still numbered no more than 0.23% of the population. It’s certainly true that they rode in on a wave of national discontent, but it’s still important to remember what a tiny minority the Bolsheviks were.

In 1932, Hitler lost the presidential election after receiving only 36.8% of the votes to Paul von Hindenburg’s 53%. Even in 1933, the Nazis won only 43.9% of the vote, a sizable share but still significantly less than 50% of popular support. Ultimately, Hitler, personally, never bettered that 36.8% outcome. Nevertheless, because the Nazi party was predicated on violence and total conquest, first in Germany and, later, abroad, it was able to achieve and maintain power without ever having true popular support.

Finally, although data for China in 1947, when Mao began his Revolution, is limited, it’s clear that the Chinese Communist Party represented a tiny minority of the population. Its 2.7 million members were only about 0.6% of the population. There was never strong ideological support for Mao’s revolution. It piggybacked off Chiang Kai-shek’s weakness, an ill-informed population, and the usual socialist promise of redistribution, which bought support from a public that was not invested in socialism.

And then there’s Islam. I return repeatedly to this 2011 post from Walid Shoebat, which in turn distills data from Peter Hammond’s Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat. I urge you to check out the post yourself, but in brief, it says that when Muslims are under 2% of the population, they’re a peaceful minority. When they hit the 2-5% mark, they start taking over disaffected minorities on the streets and in prisons. After 5%, they start exerting pressure on society as a whole (e.g., halal foods, no alcohol in taxis).

And then the Muslim minority starts getting really pushy:

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam.

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues…

[snip]

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare…

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia law as a weapon, and jizya, the tax placed on infidels

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some state-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim…

Sound familiar? Look at Britain.

The data on Wikipedia is five years old, so we know the numbers have climbed since then, meaning these are all low estimates, but they’re still mind-boggling. London’s overall Muslim population is >15%, with the Tower Hamlets neighborhood being at least 40% Muslim. The Midlands region is at leased 10% Muslim, and the North West and Yorkshire are getting close to 10%. Allied with a socialist government, Muslim immigrants have fundamentally changed Britain from a Christian nation to an Islamo-Labour nation.

And that gets me to the DSA win in New York City. Only 7% of voters put the DSA over the top, with 83% of voters staying home:

Just 7% of active voters supported Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s radical ally Darializa Avila Chevalier over establishment Democrat Rep. Adriano Espaillat in Tuesday’s main event primary, data shows.

The overall low turnout — roughly 17% of Democratic voters citywide — came as Avila Chevalier and two other Mamdani-backed House primary winners captured a mix of high-earning, young, white and black voters, analysts found.

We’re right back at Einstein’s quotation: “[T]he world is in greater peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil than from those who actually commit it.”

Aggressively evil people—and socialists and Muslims are actively responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths over the centuries—win not because of their numbers. They win because the people around them are, first, passive and then, as time goes on and these aggressive groups gain ever larger footholds, too frightened to stop them.

The time to stop the Islamic-socialist movement is now, while we are still able to do so merely by showing up at the ballot box. Wait just a little bit too long, and the only thing that will stop this evil from metastasizing in America is the blood sacrifice of good people.
