I like Andrew Klavan. I love his sense of humor—his show-opening monologues are often laugh-out-loud funny and always politically pointed—and I especially like his calm rationalism. That last was on display as he discussed why the Iran deal is not the disaster so many fear that it is.

The gist is simple: Trump has weakened Iran substantially, both militarily and economically, and that’s good enough for now. Why? Because Trump has a bigger and more immediate threat that he must fight: The Democratic Socialists of America (the “DSA”).
The DSA is a rapidly rising, enthusiastic movement that is open about its desire to destroy America completely. It’s given us Zohran Mamdani in New York City, Katie Wilson of Seattle, and (possibly) Nithya Raman in Los Angeles, along with such “luminaries” as AOC and the Squad, who may run under the Democrat label, but are clearly pure socialists. These candidates are all young, mediagenic, and pumped and primed by big money (much of it grifted from the federal government itself through laundering and fraud).
If these DSA candidates become the primary force behind the Democrat party in Congress in the midterms—both Senate and House—the American experiment is effectively over. Trump’s presidency will become completely impotent, and the DSA’s best candidate for 2028 (as many have warned) will be AOC. Frighteningly, she could win, especially given how aggressively Democrats have introduced massive, third-world fraud into America’s elections.

So, stop grumbling about the MOU, which is, as Klavan says, a “ceasefire.” And stop worrying about Israel, too. I don’t say that because I don’t care about Israel’s survival. I do. Deeply. My parents were both in the IDF during the Israeli War of Independence, so support for that nation is bred into my bones. However, without America, Israel cannot survive, so Trump must save America from the DSA before he can do anything else. A ceasefire that allows oil prices to drop is one of his major weapons in this fight.
Think of it like the message you hear (over and over and over) on airplanes, when the flight attendants discuss those oxygen masks that may not inflate but will still be delivering oxygen in case of an emergency: “Secure your own mask before assisting others.”
In other words, if you die, they die. Sometimes you must save yourself first if those who depend on you are to survive.
