An outfit named The Center for Strategic Politics did a survey of nearly 700 Democrats, and the results may not be surprising to those of us who pay attention, but they are appalling.

32% of those surveyed would react positively if they woke up tomorrow and saw that Trump was assassinated; 55% if he simply died in his sleep. 59% would react positively if he were dragged out of the White House in a military coup. 70%–75% would be okay if he were peacefully removed — which means the remaining 25%–30% want him “un-peacefully” removed. All in all, it’s an alarming percentage of Democrats who want something very dark indeed.

Let’s not speed by that 32% number. What of this 32% who are okay with assassination? And really, it’s 57%, because 25% being “neutral” means you don’t instantly recoil at the thought of an American president being assassinated. That, in my mind, is a de facto positive reaction. I don’t care how the pollster classifies it.
In the darkest days of the Obama Administration, for eight long years, I never once wished him harm. Why? Because it’s bad for the country. (Also bad ju-ju.) Same with the four years of Biden; I never wished him harm, of any kind. And I certainly never wished assassination! Because that’s not just death, it’s a violent death. These lefties have bloodlust in their hearts, if they have them.
And this business of “safeguarding the Constitution” by means of a military coup? That’s rich on several levels. First of all, the institutional left hates the military. They think of them as white Christian nationalists with weapons-training, and would classify every one of them as domestic terrorists if they could. (They tried very early on in the Obama Administration, but had to backtrack after backlash.) So I don’t know how they logically arrive at this solution to their TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), but logic has never been a regular feature of their thinking.
Secondly, which Amendments, exactly, do they hope to “safeguard”? They seem to hate them all.
The First? They want Disinformation Czars to decide what is and isn’t protected speech.

The Second? Forget it. They’d hoover up all the guns on the planet if they could — except the ones their own personal bodyguards use, of course.
The Third? The quartering Amendment? They’ve flirted with appropriating spare bedrooms for immigrants, but darn that pesky Amendment, they couldn’t force it on us, so they asked for “volunteers.” And we all know it’s a very short drive from “please volunteer” to “bad social credit score” for not volunteering. It quickly died, thank goodness.
The Fourth? Give me a break. How about the wildly invasive section 702 FISA searches? Hell, the entire deep state can stick its nose into our business with just a click. Remember Joe Biden wanting to monitor every financial transaction over $600? Yeah, that was fun. Then there’s the “red flag” laws they love, whereby they can enter your home, without a warrant, and confiscate your property, most especially your guns. So that’s a two-fer, the 4th and the 2nd.
Shall I go on?
The Fifth Amendment. The most egregious example, supported by the entire liberal bloc on the Supreme Court, was Kelo. In that case they decided that one private citizen taking property from another private citizen was okay if it was ultimately for public use. That’s a highly simplified version of it, but that’s essentially it. As long as it was for the “public good,” libs were okay with it.
The Sixth. The right to a speedy (and fair) trial was egregiously violated with the J-6ers. We’re all well familiar with the horrific abuse of them, so bad that some committed suicide. It’s an absolute abomination what they did.
I think we get the idea. There’s really nothing in the Constitution they love, not really. Only when it suits them. Because it’s all about power with them. Power. At any cost. They just don’t care how they get it, and if it means a little bloodshed, oh well. What’s a little assassination among friends?
