Pity the Democrats. Despite their attempts to convince Normal Americans that all is lost in the Midterms and 2028, so they shouldn’t waste their time voting to preserve the Constitution and rule of law, things really aren’t going their way.

Their “affordability” mantra quickly lost its potency, and they’re not saying that so much anymore. The “AI will kill us all by 2030!” bit flopped ever faster. Their record of attacking President Trump is equally dismal, though they never give up.
Democrat hope sprang eternal when Trump discussed the Iran war and why he decided to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons at a Nebraska rally. Democrats routinely take his comments out of context, omitting crucial words and his clear intent, such as when, on January 6, he told people to “peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard” at the Capitol, where a protest was already underway. Democrats and their media propaganda arm omitted that part of his speech, necessary if they were to blame him for inciting violence.
Perhaps the most famous Democrat lie, which, like the J6 lie, is still tried today, was the speech where they claimed Trump called Charlottesville Nazis “very fine people.” He specifically condemned them, and was speaking about the then-current issue of people who wanted to tear down Confederate statutes. He actually said there were fine people on both sides of that argument. It took “fact checkers” years to admit the truth.
A handy list of 40 Democrat/media hoaxes may be found here.
After the Nebraska rally, Democrats and the media went hysterical, claiming Trump wanted Iran to nuke San Diego and Los Angeles:
“After sending the National Guard and Marines to occupy California, Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego. He is deranged and dangerous,” said California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
“Thirteen million Californians call LA and San Diego counties home. Their lives are not a ‘small price to pay’ or a punchline for Donald Trump,” said California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra.
“The President of the United States suggested that a foreign government attack Los Angeles. His statements against our city are dangerous and could potentially compromise our safety. The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten it and encourage attacks on American lives. In the face of irresponsible threats, as Angelenos, we know how to stand together and protect our city,” said Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
“Deranged. Delusional. And soon to be defeated. Calling millions of Americans collateral damage in his illegal war that nobody asked for takes a special kind of depravity, the kind only a man as weak and feeble as Donald Trump could sink to,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Unfortunately for them, that’s not at all what Trump said or intended:

That from, of all outlets, the anti-Trump Atlantic. The deception was so egregious, even by Democrat standards, that other journalists couldn’t sustain it:
“This isn’t a direct quote from Trump, and I very much don’t think it’s a correct paraphrase. Trump has repeatedly argued that the consequences of the war, like higher gas prices, are a small price to pay compared to what an unchecked Iran could allegedly do,” CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale said.
“My read: The ‘small price to pay’ comment refers back to the costs of the war — like gas prices — not to the idea of Iran nuking LA and SD,” wrote CNN senior reporter Aaron Blake.
“Unpopular opinion: I don’t think Trump was suggesting letting Iran to attack ‘blue cities.’ I think he meant if Iran gets a nuke, LA and San Diego could be targets considering they’re two major West Coast cities,” wrote former Trump staffer turned Biden voter Sarah Matthews.
Matthews thought that, because it was actually what Trump said and meant. Video of the speech makes the context abundantly clear. But why would Democrats lie like that? Trump Derangement Syndrome. Lying about Trump is their status quo, their default. Any justification for the war damages their “unnecessary, illegal war” narrative, and they desperately need that narrative for the Midterms and thereafter.
We now have sufficient history to conclude that just about anything Democrats or the media say about Trump is a lie.
