My prime dating years were the 1970s, ending in 1978 when I inexplicably lucked into my wife. The following years have been, because of her, the best of my life, and continue to be a miraculous joy for the same reason. I’m sure that’s because we’ve learned to accept each other—male and female—for who and what we are.

That was largely the case during my dating years, when fewer young women than I would have preferred back then graced me with their intimacy. I’m tempted to write that those were carefree days. The past is seldom as wonderful as we like to remember. But I didn’t have to worry about being cast out of college, sued, or prosecuted for a rape I didn’t commit. That really wasn’t on men’s radar back then.
We danced—mostly happily–the eternal dance between men and women. To be sure, the police were often lax in pursuing real rapists, but we didn’t avoid women out of fear that a breakup, or mere post-encounter regrets, would all but destroy our futures and lives. Not so today:

Women now outnumber men in colleges and in many career fields, and that’s not good. The societal replacement rate is generally considered to be 2.1 births for each childbearing-age woman. We’re at 1.6, which means we’re declining. We’re in danger of being replaced by cultures like Muslims who reproduce at far higher rates, a fact of which they’re very much aware and which is part of their world-conquering strategy.
These troubling trends were exacerbated by the “believe all women” nonsense, which saw innocent men denied due process and expelled from colleges, thrown out of careers, and ostracized from society. Thankfully, reason eventually prevailed, and things began to turn back to sanity, tolerance, understanding, good-faith negotiation, and the intimacy between men and women necessary for domestic peace and societal stability.
And then came the Cornell case, where seven men, at least two of whom seem to have had no sexual contact with the female accuser. She seems to have willfully participated in unfortunate sexual adventures with frat brothers, and later told them how much she enjoyed it. Unfortunately, she is now suing, alleging gang rape. I most recently wrote about that case here at AT in Cornell: Trump did it! Also here at my home blog.
The accuser is fortunate that the alleged rapes occurred in New York State, where Kathy Hochul is Governor. She removed the original prosecutor—the case is two years old—and appointed NY Attorney General Letitia James, a political hack who, in a recent debate, declared she didn’t need to follow the facts and the law, and hired former DOJ hack Sally Yates and her law firm to “investigate” the case. We know the accuser’s story has “dramatically changed” between her original report and now, and that the original prosecutor declined to press charges because under NY law, the crimes just weren’t there.
James and Yates, both reliable anti-Trump Democrats, were surely picked to deliver a predetermined result. They have the men; they just need to find the crimes.

The usual woke suspects are calling for the men’s blood, though some of them have graduated and are calling for the abolition of fraternities, because believe all women, and all men are bas***ds who deserve to be in jail and worse:

I never joined a fraternity, because as Dick Cavett once said, I could get nude, drink beer and throw up alone. And just because we have to expect the young and sexually energetic of both sexes to do foolish things doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be consequences when those foolish things morph into crimes. But if we’re going to survive as a viable society, those consequences have to be individual, not institutional, though that may have a place, too.
This belated complaint has likely resurrected the “believe all women” narrative because Democrat internal polling suggests their promised Midterm “blue wave” may be a blue fizzle, and their previous election-ready narratives have fizzled too. The Democrat propaganda media is only too happy to push any narrative that will potentially harm Republicans and Normal Americans, particularly men.
That’s a tragedy, because there is no campus rape crisis, just as there is no “trans genocide,” and no systemic racism. The demand for all three far exceeds the paltry supply, so Democrats like the SPLC make them up, giving their media leave to turn local tempests in teapots into national scandals that flare like bottle rockets and quickly disappear for lack of substance.
Very few men have ever been saints, but neither have women. The justice system still mostly works. It’s time to dance again, freely and productively.
