“Either they eradicate us, or we eradicate them.”

–Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi

I’ve been warning for years about the threat of Islamist, and to a lesser degree Chinese, sleeper cells in America. During the open borders of the Biden years, Islamist men of military age and deportment, and rage against America, were routinely detained at our borders, and as far as we can tell, released into America unvetted. Biden officials occasionally and grudgingly admitted Islamists on various Terrorist Watch lists were detained, but virtually never explained what had been done with them. We can reasonably believe they too were released into the country and perhaps even provided with cell phones, debit cards, and bus or jet transportation to the city of their choice. Maybe they were vetted, and maybe not, but we certainly have no idea where they went or what their intentions are, though it doesn’t take much imagination to figure that out.

Who is al-Saadi?  Tal Fortgang at City Journal explains:

In the wake of the joint U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iran last summer and this past February, counterterrorism experts and government officials have identified the prospect of Iranian sleeper cells on American soil as a serious threat. The arrest earlier this month of Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi offers a stark reminder that that threat is real.

A Kata’ib Hizballah commander working closely with the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), al-Saadi was allegedly directing bombings of synagogues, Jewish schools, and American financial institutions abroad while simultaneously mapping out a Manhattan synagogue for attack. According to the federal complaint, he explained his motivations for attacking Jews as “either they eradicate us, or we eradicate them.” He now stands accused of six terrorism-related offenses.

Fortgang is a master of understatement:

Al-Saadi’s indictment should put to rest questions about whether Iran and its allies are willing to attack civilian sites to pressure the United States. The IRGC remains a textbook terror enterprise, and attacks on foreign soil are no small part of its portfolio.

The Justice Department alleges that al-Saadi, an Iraqi national, was involved in nearly 20 attacks and attempted attacks throughout Europe and the United States. He allegedly coordinated with several criminal syndicates through messaging platforms like Telegram and Snapchat—including making cryptocurrency payments—to plan attacks against American nationals, financial centers, and religious communities. The alleged operations included firebombing branches of American banks in Amsterdam and Paris and stabbing two people in London.

Obviously, our intelligence and law enforcement agencies—probably primarily the FBI—are paying attention these days, as well they should. That’s easier for an FBI no longer focused on soccer moms and Catholics instead of Islamist terrorists and Chinese spies. The old axiom, however, applies: we have to be lucky every time; terrorists only have to be lucky once.

Al-Saadi is right. We are in a war of elimination. They absolutely want to kill us all, and Jews first. Under the Second Trump Administration, that is taken more seriously, but not nearly seriously enough. The Bible does not exhort Christians to conquer the world for Christianity by enslavement or the sword. Islam does. It’s difficult for Americans and other Westerners to understand that kind of medieval thinking. Note the near-total Islamic domination of Europe.

In the current Iran conflict, the Iranians routinely threaten all manner of destruction against us. Some of that is certainly bluster intended to keep their own Islamists riled up. The Iranian—Persian—people are apparently not so enthusiastic about dying for the cause. But the underlying threat is of the activation of the likely hundreds, if not thousands, of terror cells in America. Barack Obama and Joe Biden financed them, and they’re here.

What might such attacks look like?  Kurt Schlichter’s The Attack is a chilling, fictional, suggestion, based in fact and probability, of how that might happen.

Iran has recently announced it’s no longer interested in negotiations. That doesn’t bode well for a deal, as it renounces its standard delaying tactic. Iran continues to lob missiles and drones at us, Israel, and surrounding Arab states, and we, in limited fashion, vaporize Iranian military assets. President Trump is content to wait, maintaining the blockade while obliterating Iran’s economy.

It’s not going to work.

Shia Twelvers will never stop trying to get nuclear weapons and will use whatever asymmetrical terror tactic they can, which includes mass terror attacks on American soil. We’re going to eventually have to realize al-Saadi speaks for Islam, and particularly for the Iranian Islamists. We wipe them out, or they’ll wipe out millions of us when they obtain nuclear weapons.

With Democrats siding with al-Saadi, more concerned with temporarily high gas prices than mushroom clouds over American cities, and mid-term elections looming, we may not have the political will to do what’s necessary. One day, Democrat historians will call that “bad luck.”
