Sometimes it’s hard to be a Democrat, especially when you are getting questions about that fellow named Hasan Piker. They are doing everything possible to distance themselves from Piker, but they can’t, as Joe Concha points out:

Democrats know they have a serious problem on their hands as Piker is being portrayed as the face of the party by Republicans. And some are already fed up with interviews that seem to focus on condemning his views, especially as it pertains to the Jewish community.
‘I am done! Don’t any reporter ask me about Hasan Piker!’ Rep. Debbie Dingle (D-MI) shouted at a recent rally in Michigan. ‘It’s not what November is about. Republicans are trying to divide us!’
Despite Dingell’s demands, the questions are going to continue to come.
Yes the questions will continue, whether they come from reluctant reporters or TV ads blasted every minute by the GOP. Americans will hear a lot about a man named Piker this fall, and Democrats won’t like it.
As we saw from Rep. Dingell, most Democrats don’t want to respond to questions about Piker. Of course, they don’t, but they have to.

The Piker problem did not happen by chance. It is the result of associating with people who are just a bit more radical than the rest of us.
My late Cuban mother had a wonderful expression about hanging around with the wrong crowd. It loosely translates to “show me who you are with and I will tell you who you are.” Maybe that’s the Cuban version of “birds of a feather flock together,” or something like that. Her point was clear. If you let a bunch of people who hate the country or Jews in your ranks, then don’t be surprised if Jewish Americans, and others, wonder who you really are.
Yes, Democrats will go out their way to stand not by their Piker. But don’t be surprised if normal Americans are a bit skeptical about their change of heart.
