Many companies are trying to build data centers in Wyoming, our least populous state, with only around 600,000 residents and lots of open land. Most proposals have been welcomed, but opposition remains, largely due to fears about water use and, to a slightly lesser degree, a potential lack of electricity.
The latter is being addressed by developers building their own power plants, including mini nuclear reactors. The water issue? Totally contrived. Golf courses, among other users of water, require far more than data centers, which can recycle much of the water they require:

In this issue, as with others, it’s always smart and necessary to consider cui bono—who benefits? A perennial Wyoming problem is that far too many young people grow up in a great state but have difficulty finding careers. Data centers fill that void, which is why so many towns are embracing them. They’re also necessary to service the AI boom and to protect national security. That’s why this is predictable:

Who coulda thunk it? Our primary geopolitical enemy is manipulating public opinion for their benefit, knowing America is just full of useful idiots like Communist Bernie Sanders:

And “data-center operators enriching themselves at the public expense?” Not quite. While some operators may get temporary tax advantages for building in some places, what the Chinese Communist bots are talking about is capitalism. People who can put together enough money can build industries that employ great numbers of people to build, operate, and maintain them, which also provides jobs for their suppliers and the suppliers of the suppliers, and so on.
Sure, the capitalists who operate those industries make a lot of money, but the alternative is communism and the misery, shared poverty, and mass death it causes. The Chinese have partially embraced capitalism because they know communism doesn’t work, but they’ve kept communism’s murderous social control mechanisms, the very mechanisms contemporary American socialists/communists are promising to immediately implement when they take power and eliminate the useful idiots that put them in power. They’re not saying that last part out loud. They call them “useful idiots” for good reasons.

I follow this stuff professionally, yet even I had to have a colleague share a link on X — no mainstream media source, naturally — to learn about Hao and her little tiny error.
Even though she “discovered” her mistake in November of 2025, the whole data center controversy didn’t gain steam until the summer of 2026.

Something stinks — and here is Blume Industries to explain: “Just gonna remind you the journo who produced the bogus water data for data centers now lives in Hong Kong. I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure it out from there.”
So yeah, I’m completely comfortable calling the sprang-up-outta-nowhere data center “debate” a Communist Chinese psyop to kneecap our high-tech edge over the People’s Republic.
So, 100,000% wrong? Probably just an inadvertent rounding error.
Cui bono. The Chinese have, with the willing help of useful idiot Democrats, infiltrated our universities, industries, and even our government, stealing all manner of secrets they’re using to fuel their military buildup. Surely the information they’re stealing reveals how far ahead of them we are in AI, and how far ahead we’ll become with the proliferation of data centers. The 200,000 bot plot X discovered certainly isn’t their only bot farm, and certainly not the only one dedicated to crippling American progress. Data centers and the AI they serve are only one aspect of our technological and economic superiority over China and our other enemies.
There’s no need to see commies under every bed, but Communists are masters of propaganda and espionage, and among Democrats, and even credulous Republicans, find a more than willing cohort of useful idiots. Salena Zito is not among them:

That’s another aspect of China’s coldish war against us. Damaging Americans’ economic might and destroying our social cohesion are essential elements of Democrat/communist subversion.
We should certainly do whatever is necessary to ensure we have more than enough energy for our current and future needs, just as we must ensure more than adequate water resources. But with intelligent planning, and the understanding that our foreign and domestic enemies are actively working to destroy us, we can do both.
