It looks as if Hasan Piker, renowned spokesman for the Islamo-Socialist revival movement, has jumped the U-boat.

In a recent podcast, Piker took it upon himself to give the American Jewish community some… advice, I guess you’d call it.

“The ignorance of the broad masses about the inner nature of the Jew, the lack of instinct and narrow-mindedness of our upper classes, make the people an easy victim for this Jewish campaign of lies.”

Oops… sorry, that was somebody else, a guy from the 30s. Here’s Hasan:

“If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there, that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action. Not against the state of Israel,  mind you, but against American Jews. “

Hoo boy… Hard to know where to start with this one. Just lining up all the anti-Semitic tropes apparent in this single statement will give you a headache.

  • That American Jews are “putting this idea” — that is, that they support Israel exactly as anybody else would support their nation of origin — “out there.” In Hasan Piker’s America, you can’t speak you mind about what you believe. Or does that only apply to Jews?
  • “That they are singularly invested in Israel” — and why wouldn’t they be? All Islamists in this country are “singularly invested” in Mecca — and they’re certainly more of a threat than America’s Jews have ever shown themselves to be. Maybe we should do something about that.
  • “…eventually someone’s going to come around and take action.” Oh, and who would that be? Let’s hear some details. Or is Hasan content to leave it up to us to guess?

But maybe we’re overreacting. After all, Hasan has gone out of his way to express his deep concern for the safety and security of American Jews:

I don’t know how people don’t recognize how dangerous this predicament is, how dangerous this is for Jews.  You’re running around basically tying your entire identity to a country that inevitably will be seen as basically Jewish ISIS. And you’re saying, as Jews, this is all we care about.

You’re making anti-Semitism worse.

This is clearly CYA, a pathetic attempt to excuse the almost open threats expressed previously. It’s a basic element in the repertoire of every anti-Semite who has ever breathed this planet’s air: that it’s their own fault. That the Jews are to blame for their haters. That they actually trigger it just by being there. That when the pogrom starts, when the trucks appear at the ghetto gates, when the cattle cars pull into the rail yards, it will be their responsibility.

Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. once said something about “shouting ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.” Is the theater crowded enough yet?
