A pastor in the U.K. was recently convicted for quoting John 3:16, arguably the most recognizable and often cited Bible verse.

So, in the U.S., you can spit at ICE officials, you can throw snowballs at cops, you can harass and swear at police and even lob dildos at any law enforcement personnel who disagree with you, without being made to account for that behavior.

In Europe, you can attempt to destroy classical pieces of art by heaving cans of spaghetti sauce on them, or disrupt traffic by blocking roads, but you cannot even silently pray outside of an abortion clinic or in its general vicinity. Obviously, that is beyond the pale.

John 3:16 states, “For God So loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

So, the U.K. criminalizes a Bible verse about a loving God (temporarily) sacrificing his Son to grant all of us the chance at eternal life … because the recitation or recognition of which may cause some people to question their desire to kill their sons or daughters for their own convenience? An act which, however heinous, is somehow not illegal!

We better hope that the message of John 3:16 is still true, because it would seem we are really testing His patience.
