After three years, Elke Gaugele concluded that “tradwife” trends, polo shirts, and “Old Money” styles, were connected to “right-wing tendencies.” Serran included a translated excerpt from a European outlet, which covered the story:
What used to be associated with bomber jackets and combat boots is said to be much more difficult to recognize today. According to the Viennese fashion researcher Elke Gaugele, the spectrum of clothing styles she studied now ranges from streetwear to the so-called ‘old money’ look to polo shirts or the ‘tradwife’ style.
This was obviously a necessary study, because nowadays, right-wingers aren’t just the people wearing “bomber jackets and combat boots.” Those nutbags could be anywhere, and determining who amongst us subscribes to crazy ideas, like marriage is between a man and a woman and being clean-cut makes a good impression, holds the utmost importance in public interest.
I have an idea though: Next time the Austrian leftists want to hand out almost half-a-million dollars to figure out what clothing “right-wing” people wear, give it to me, because I can bring them more material than what Gaugele offered, and I can do it in five minutes (instead of three years):
Anything patriotic, whether it’s a chic “Old Money” Ralph Lauren American flag sweater or a baseball cap that highlights military service.
Modest clothing, because “right wing” people largely adhere to Christian values of modesty and virtue.
Natural fibers like linen or cotton, because “right-wing” people are so obnoxious with their consideration for the environment and sustainable clothing choices, and they try to avoid polluting the environment with plastic clothing like polyester if they can.

Suits—because professionalism too is a “right-wing” value, a behavior which signals competence and respectability.
Ironed “business casual” shirts and slacks—looking like you rolled out of bed is not a typical “right-wing” style.
Brushed hair and fresh breath.
On the contrary, would they like some idea on how to identify those with “left-wing tendencies” too? Because I can help there as well.
Anything slobby.
Anything immodest.
Che Guevara t-shirts.
Outfits that look like they were thrifted from the Goodwill bargain bin—the more mismatched, clashing, and clownish, the better.
Keffiyehs.
A “tendency” to sport fast fashion brands, like Shein, which relies on the horrendous exploitation of workers in third world factories.
Unshowered and unkempt personal hygiene.
Political slogan shirts or “flair,” like those silicone wristbands that say “Black Lives Matter,” or pins that read “1973.” (I happened to see a woman in the airport last week wearing exactly those two things, who was then an awful witch to the black airline agent scanning the boarding passes—I’m sure the way she treats people has nothing to do with the political values with which she resonates!)
Heck, I’ll even let the study’s commissioners have that information at no charge, just as long as they pay back the taxpayer funds they handed to Gaugele, with interest of course.
