Yesterday, the American Thinker podcast featured an interview with Joshua Lisec, who worked with DataRepublican (Jennica Pounds) on the new book Unelected: How You Paid a Sinister Elite to Take Over America (due in October). Joshua is a fascinating person—thoughtful and informed—who’s contemplated long and hard why people on both the left and the right have embraced, and are using your money to pay for, a “supranational” idea that erases all borders.

I highly recommend the entire interview, but I wanted to focus in this post on something really important that Joshua said, which I’ve formulated in my mind as the “Pangaea fallacy.”
Pangaea was the supercontinent that existed around 250 million years ago, before the Earth’s movement broke it up into the seven continents we know: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. It was a big, globular mass rather than a collection of distinct locations scattered across the globe.
As long ago as the late 16th century, Abraham Ortelius looked at the map of the world and noticed that the varying continents looked like slightly warped puzzle pieces that once all fitted together. It was Alfred Wegener, though, in the early 20th century, who finally came up with the formal theory of “continental drift,” and gave the name Pangaea to this progenitor unified continent. There is a lot of evidence to support the theory, in addition to the visual evidence of the puzzle pieces, such as fossil distribution, geological structures, and continental plate movement.
However, the important thing to note is that once there truly was one world, a world without borders. Africa was Asia was Europe was North America was South America…
And that, says Joshua Lisec, is what the supranationals essentially want to have happen again. Everything fused together into one unit:
And it’s that concept of “opening up societies”…Open Societies Foundation, right? George Soros…The concept of opening up societies, it’s a bunch of hippie- dippy kumbaya woo-woo nonsense, ultimately is what it is. And yet if… It is the full (we call it late-stage liberalism), but it’s the full application of Enlightenment values, which are for the most part an Anglo-Saxon phenomenon that only works in certain populations and certain geographies in certain places of time and does not work in the world, and requires a homogeneous, high-trust society.
The trouble with supranationalism is it says we can just all be one high-trust homogeneous society. There’s only one race, the human race. We all bleed red. And now I’m sounding like a liberal or a conservative who is promising how not racist they are. And this is where super nationalism is found in both Republicans and in Democrats.

If you watch the whole video, you’ll hear Joshua explain that the reason behind this globalism is less sinister than one would imagine. That is, these Pangaea globalists (as I think of them) aren’t the movie caricature of a madman seeking world domination, although George Soros often fits the bill. Indeed, the altruism behind the movement is why so many Republicans are unable to speak out against it.
According to Joshua, the supernationalism that is destroying borders—and nations—is the inevitable “hippie-dippie” conclusion to the Enlightenment belief that “all men are created equal.” If we’re all equal, then we can all live together under one beneficent rule that would see optimal functionality and happiness for all mankind. It is “kumbaya” on steroids.
Or, as Ida Auken, a Danish member of Parliament, wrote for a World Economic Forum publication in 2016, “Welcome to 2030. I own nothing, have no privacy, and life has never been better.” During the lockdown, as people realized how much the lockdown tracked these WEF visions, that formulation was shortened to “You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy.”
The problem, as Joshua explains and you intuitively understand because you live in the real world, is that this hippie-infused Enlightenment idea utterly fails to take into account that, while all men are created equal in God’s eyes, once created, they don’t develop equally, with equal values. A pedophilic, misogynistic, homophobic, anti-Christian, antisemitic fanatically religious 40-year-old Muslim from Afghanistan will not embrace the Enlightenment values of an American, German, or Brit. Instead, he sees these well-intentioned Westerners as goats, ripe for rape and dinner.
The Pangaea fallacy does not arise in the real world. Instead, it is a product of academia, uber-rich enclaves, European politics, and DSA meetings. These sequestered, delusional people, who have way too much power, will willingly burn down the world to fulfill their dream of a new, universal continent, filled with happy, dispossessed people stripped of their ethnic and religious identities.
