Such worthless commentary is slanderous to the President who has thwarted (at a minimum) Iran’s nuclear ambitions. It is unbecoming for a civilian who has never served in the Armed Forces to Monday morning quarterback, especially from the cozy environs of her office. Of course, one doesn’t have to be a veteran or family member to express an opinion about war, but don’t label the massive might of our deployed Armed Forces as a “twig” at blustery President Trump’s disposal.
To a great extent, our America First interests align with Israel’s. In the dynamic world of international relations, especially subjected to accelerated Trump Time, our interests are also interwoven with cooler heads throughout the Middle East.
Presciently, President Trump has expanded our influence in the region; he respects and considers advice from the Gulf Cooperation Council and other regional powers, including Turkey and Pakistan. They are largely advising against military escalation. It’s noteworthy that even Israel publicly agrees with a delay in large-scale strikes.
Thanks to President Trump’s “twig,” we control the skies over Iran. From the air, we can strike at will. That doesn’t really constitute a “forever war,” as traditionally cast. Still, superior military brains, aided by AI intelligence and targeting options, will decide whether American boots trample across Kharg Island, thereby squelching about 90% of Iran’s economy.
As evinced by General Dan Caine (Joint Chiefs of Staff), patience may be a virtue. Consider that Chinese President Xi Jinping is still scheduled to visit the U.S. in September. Would that transpire if China is intent on continuing to aid Iran with munitions and targeting data? That’s not really in their interest as they scurry for more energy transiting the Hormuz Strait. In other words, our so-called “twig” will have time to shoot and sprout even as an increasingly isolated Iran withers.

CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper and several retired generals, favor a harsher military response to Iran. They want to “finish the job,” which is unsurprising since, ultimately, that’s their job.
By contrast, General Dan Caine sees the wider picture, and is more cautious. There are also policy disagreements in the White House and throughout government apparatuses.
Irrespective of their passionately held differences, none would accuse President Trump of blustering loudly while carrying a twig. That may be part of the Dem misinformation repertoire. Israel has been an important ally; as stated, they are also recommending we hold off on large-scale strikes — for now.
Likewise with other regional powers who constitute our broadening sphere of influence in the Middle East.
Despite their Baghdad Bob-style blustery bravado, Iran is the country wielding a “twig.” Once again, Trump is playing 3-D chess while the emotionally laden naysayers, perhaps overwrought by a legitimate sense of historical injustice, seem overzealous. America First.
