Hunter Biden, the ne’er do well son of Joe Biden, who served on the boards of two foreign energy companies, has been popping off about the oil industry as being a bunch of wicked gougers all in for stiffing the public:

Chevron just posted $12 billion in profit. Up 400% in a year. Their biggest quarter ever. Exxon made $14.5 billion. You paid for all of it at the pump.
Say what you want about Trump. He’s making something great again. And who’s more deserving than Big Oil.

How … profound.
Actually, it’s the thinking of a high-school goober, or the guy on the next bar stool; complete ignorance of the matter, masquerading as ‘deep’ thinking.
That prompted a retort from an industry trade group that does know how the oil industry works:
Hello Hunter Biden.
Thank you for sharing your views on the oil and gas business.
We know you worked for foreign oil and gas entities primarily Ukraine’s Burisma and China’s CEFC China Energy.
This is interesting given your lack of measurable talent or experience in this… https://t.co/XhbrI1RNWx

They cuttingly pointed out that he ‘earned’ (if that is the word for it) $20 million from these foreign enterprises and still didn’t know the first thing about the oil industry, which is to say, volatile pricing makes earnings go up, but it must be balanced with ultra low pricing when prices go down, or an oil company would not stay in business. High price times are for investment in the industry, while low price times are for hunkering down. It’s so basic, even I know it.

But not Hunter. To him, oil majors are greedy gougers and he’s just poor little Hunter, imagining he’s a victim, but definitely putting the word out about how little he knows.
The industry group didn’t say so, but in its loving descriptions of all the cash Hunter made off his political connnections at Chinese and Ukrainian energy concerns, it followed from statements Hunter made a day earlier, about blowing his fortune on lawyers and lascivious living to the point where he couldn’t buy a car.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
Hunter Biden claimed under oath earlier this year that he’s so broke he doesn’t even own a car or a cellphone, and said his family is too strapped for cash to help him pay off millions in unpaid legal bills.
Which is pretty broke indeed. Illegals, after all, usually have cell phones.
Which implicitly says that Hunter actually blew the $20 million in politically connected gains and now doesn’t have a pot to p*** in.
And the real message? You know what they say about a fool and his money. That was a smackdown.
