Contemporary Democrats hate reality. It limits them, frustrates their plans, and doesn’t fill their bank accounts. Accordingly, they create their own reality and try to force everyone else to live in it. The more outlandishly insane their created reality, the more they defend it.

Such is the case with Disney, a former entertainment company that has, by ignoring the realities of economics and the expectations of its audience, all but obliterated two of the most popular and lucrative entertainment franchises in history: Star Wars and Marvel. And now, Disney is imagineering reality again. It has filed a petition with the Federal Communications Commission claiming that the shrill, notoriously leftist, Trump and Normal American-hating ABC daytime scream fest, The View, is a legitimate news program.

This is not satire. Disney really did that:

According to documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission, Disney’s Houston station KTRK-TV and ABC submitted a Petition for Declaratory Ruling on May 7, 2026.

The petition requests official recognition of The View as a “bona fide news interview program,” comparable to traditional shows like Meet the Press or Face the Nation.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr responded:

To clarify, here’s the reality Disney is trying to get the FCC to ignore:

The reasoning behind the petition centers on an old broadcast law.

Section 315 of the Communications Act of 1934 requires television stations to grant equal airtime opportunities to legally qualified political candidates.

What this means is that if The View continues to feature leftists like Joe Biden, the law requires them to offer equal airtime to Republicans, like say…Donald Trump. With Democrats in charge of the executive branch, which includes the FCC, Disney didn’t have to worry about equal time. The co-hosts of The View could fly their leftist freak flags as much as they pleased. But with the 2026 mid-term elections and the 2028 presidential election looming, and a dearth of rational, eloquent, even sane Democrat candidates, The View would be in real trouble. The FCC under Trump would surely—damn him—enforce the law.

The View would be able to prop up people like Kamala Harris—again—only so much. It was her bizarre answer about what she’d do differently than Joe Biden—she couldn’t think of a thing—on that show that helped doom her presidential hopes. And Disney is at least smart enough to know Republicans like JD Vance and Marco Rubio would make The View’s hosts look like the dimwits they are. Desperate to feed The View’s almost exclusively female audience the leftist red meat to which they’ve become accustomed, and equally desperate to keep literate and eloquent Republicans away from that audience, Disney is pretending The View is a hard news program. Talk about warping reality.

Ironic that Disney didn’t care enough about the reality of the largely young male audience of Star Wars and the Marvel Universe to meet that audience’s expectations, but they’re absolutely desperate to recognize and serve the reality of a far smaller and far less profitable audience. One might almost think Disney recognizes The View not so much as entertainment, but as a necessary propaganda arm keeping affluent wine women on the Democrat reservation. That’s one reality they’re able and willing to recognize.

As is required by law, the FCC is seeking public comments on whether The View is a legitimate news program and is thus exempt from the equal time requirement. That’s rather like asking the public to opine on whether one gets wet while swimming, but that’s real reality.

In the meantime, The View will continue to produce hard-hitting news programming, like just how much of a Nazi is Trump anyway, and what’s he doing to destroy “our democracy” today?
