One need not read much in the contemporary media to be treated to the idea that political violence is an exclusively right-wing phenomenon. Why, leftist organizations like Antifa are merely ideas, not violent anarchists, as Joe Biden told us. Black Lives Matter, socialists, communists, Islamists—they’re all just benign, legitimate political movements. It’s those MAGA maniacs, those soccer moms and Normal Americans who are too busy working every day to protest, loot and burn that are the real threat of political violence.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently exposed that ideology as the lie it is:

For far too long our counterterrorism doctrine has had a blind spot — a blind spot when it comes to extremist violence from the political left.

Even today, the very idea that far-left terrorism could be a serious threat is treated as a right-wing fever dream, or worse, as a dangerous fascist conspiracy. It’s treated this way by many in the press, by many in academia and our universities, and by many of our legacy institutions. You will no doubt see the dogma rear its head in the coverage of this very conference.

For years, this extraordinary ideological prejudice was embedded in the way we talked about political violence and extremism. It was repeated again and again, until it was accepted as the neutral and objective baseline, so entrenched in the mainstream conventional wisdom that it came to be regarded as an apolitical fact.

It is the reason why, here in my country, so many people in positions of power have repeatedly dismissed acts of violence and even terrorism as legitimate forms of political expression so long as they served a left-wing cause.

It is why during those so-called George Floyd riots in the summer of 2020, as criminals and extremists burned and looted their way through America’s great cities and nearly brought the country to its knees, city governments all across the country simply refused to prosecute the people conducting these acts of violence and terror.

Rubio’s speech is rightly being hailed as not only necessary but essential. Leftist violence, including three attempts on President Trump’s life, the 2020 “Summer of Love,” assassination attempts on ICE officers, and rampant violence against immigration enforcement generally, is worsening. Constitutional Supreme Court justices need enhanced, daily protection from violent threats, though strangely, the three leftist justices seemingly do not.

A steadily worsening threat of leftist violence is antisemitism, and while there are a few antisemites in the Stupid Party—Republicans—there can be no doubt the Democrat Party, which is now the Islamist/Marxist party, is the antisemitic party. Take the case of Rep. Adam Smith (D, WA), a former supporter of Israel. He was among the 103 Democrats who recently voted—thankfully unsuccessfully–to cut off military aid to Israel. Why would he do that? He provided a political explanation:

— Rep. Adam Smith (@RepAdamSmith) July 16, 2026

The top note was that he was “frustrated” with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. However, Smith also provided the real—damn! They really want to kill me!—explanation:

I am deeply concerned about the tactics used by those on the far left to advocate for cutting off aid to Israel. To date, my family and I have had our home vandalized, a fire has been set in my driveway, my neighbors’ lives have been disrupted by demonstrations in the middle of the night, town halls meant to be forums for dialogue have been shut down, and a staff member has been physically assaulted. Those who engage in this type of behavior model a dangerous form of corrosive politics that seeks to intimidate those who disagree with them.

One of the thugs who organized protests at Smith’s home is now running against him:

AIPAC darling and pro-genocide Democratic Congressmember @RepAdamSmith was forced to vote yesterday in favor of an amendment that would have cut $3.3 billion in weapons funding to Israel.

Of course, everyone in the Democratic Party knew the amendment would fail. But this vote is…

— Kshama Sawant (@cmkshama) July 16, 2026

Consider the message the new, Islamist/Marxist rulers of the Democrat Party are sending:

Do what we say, vote the way we demand, hate the Jews and Normal Americans, or we’ll picket and damage your home, threaten your family, assault your staff, and imply we’ll do much worse to you and those you care about. Go along or get out, and we’ll elect people who will.

Smith heard Sawant’s message loud and clear, and he decided he’d better get in step with the new Islamist/Marxist Democrat Party.

Where are the Republican Sawants? They really don’t exist, and Marco Rubio and, surely, Adam Smith know it. Will Sawant defeat Smith? It’s likely, and should that happen, what’s the probability that Sawant will take that victory as evidence that she should dial down the violence in pursuit of her political goals?

Israel knows. It’s ramping up the industries necessary to provide its own military hardware. Israelis know they can’t trust us, particularly not if Democrats take control.

Islamists and communists threaten Democrat congressmen to become Islamists and communists. Yeah, it’s Normal Americans we must worry about.
