New York City, as the home of the United Nations headquarters, is hosting the U.N. General Assembly in the fall. And Democratic Socialist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani expressed during a recent interview with a New York Times interviewer that he’s holding onto a deeply-held wish and campaign promise: to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested when the world leader arrives in his city to attend it.

Yes, the new Mayor is considering it and investigating whether he can do it. Talk about thinking outlandish thoughts rather than helping citizens clean their streets or fighting crime.

My wild guess is that the mayor wants the headlines and is thinking about actually getting arrested and writing a book from prison as Fidel Castro did. As you may remember, Castro was arrested for attacking a military facility in Cuba, wrote a book, and was then released under an amnesty. Wouldn’t the US’s top communist love that on his resume?

The city is falling apart, but the mayor is focused on arresting a foreign leader with a warrant from an international body with no jurisdiction in the US.

That’s the Democrat Party of 2026. They can’t govern but are really good at making headlines.
