Months after assuming office, the new Trump administration has gone full throttle with common-sense reforms and, more importantly, a thorough overhaul of the mess left behind by the Democrats. That is why the Department of Government Efficiency was established, with prominent figures like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy eager to make America better in practical ways. Surprisingly for many old-school politicians and pundits, Vice President JD Vance played a major role in this cleanup effort. Traditionally the VP handles foreign policy, but this time Vance has taken on the unexpected, and highly effective, task of helping drain the swamp right here at home.

These efforts have already saved hundreds of billions of American taxpayers’ dollars from pointless spending. Deep oversight of the Democrat legacy also allowed the new administration to expose major corruption schemes, including massive fraud in Minnesota’s child nutrition programs and Covid-era money laundering operations in California. These investigations have been extraordinarily successful for law enforcement, in part because many of the fraudsters never even bothered to hide their crimes. They were convinced a Democrat would be back in the Oval Office after November 2024. Thankfully for America, President Trump won in a landslide, and together with his team he is bringing order back to the system.

Following this series of successful exposures, another alleged high-profile fraud story hit the headlines. The family of California’s incumbent governor, Gavin Newsom, appears entangled in a serious corruption scheme. Federal investigators from the Department of Justice have been examining Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, with a particular focus on her taxes and the finances of her nonprofits, including the California Partners Project and The Representation Project.

Whistleblowers and sources in Sacramento reportedly triggered the probes, which have included scrutiny of “behested payments,” charitable donations solicited by Newsom himself for his wife’s causes. In 2024 and 2025 alone, these totaled at least $1.9 million, including a $1 million contribution from the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. Critics point to questions of self-dealing: Siebel Newsom and her production company, Girls Club Entertainment, reportedly received millions from these nonprofits over the years. Figures cited around $3.7 million in one analysis, while some of the organizations posted significant losses.

Newsom predictably cried political persecution, claiming President Trump put him and his wife on a “hit list” because he is eyeing a 2028 presidential run. He portrayed the probes as an attack on his family. Yet reports indicate the investigations into his wife’s tax activities and related nonprofits originated in 2025, before the full force of the current administration, and stemmed from whistleblower complaints rather than partisan orders.

At first glance, the idea that one of the leading potential Democrat nominees for 2028 might be caught up in this kind of mess is shocking. But a quick look at the pattern of exposed cases from late 2025 through now paints a clearer picture: most of these schemes were made possible precisely because of Democrat control, either through direct participation or through willful blindness and lack of oversight.

These developments prove one thing: the Democrat party is in deep crisis. While their would-be standard-bearers are mired in corruption scandals, we in the GOP have a real opportunity. Instead of getting distracted, we should stay focused on making this country better today. That way, the November midterms won’t be stressful for conservatives, and by 2028 we can secure massive public support, without ever returning to the failed woke and DEI era that voters have already rejected.

The contrast could not be clearer. One side is still trying to cover up its messes and play the victim. The other side is actually fixing the problems. America is watching.
