His favored parlor trick is to observe that Jesus never preached against practitioners of abortion, homosexuality, and child mutilation. For the record, Jesus also never said anything about serial murderers, but that does not mean that He endorsed the practice.
Talarico harkens back to another demented preacher that evangelized a form of liberation theology in the ‘60s and ‘70s. His name is Jimmy Jones. His church was the People’s Temple. Jones practiced a form of interracial, love thy neighbor religion with him as the supreme loving father. He eventually led his spiritual flock into a South American jungle where he and his followers committed “revolutionary” suicide.
