After stealing Spencer Pratt’s second-place finish in the Los Angeles mayor’s race in an extended Skid Row ballot-harvesting operation, Democratic Socialists of American candidate Nithya Raman would now like to collect votes from Spencer Pratt’s voters.

Nithya Raman on earning support of Spencer Pratt voters: ‘I want them to expect more from the city’ https://t.co/F98GUssF1R

— ABC7 Eyewitness News (@ABC7) June 11, 2026

According to ABC7, she said:

“I think Spencer Pratt tapped into very real frustrations that people are facing here in this city. I think they’re looking at a city that has failed on some of the most basic functions and is still asking us to trust the city on solving even more complicated things like homelessness, like our affordable housing crisis, and they’re seeing in that a real lack of trust and a lack of faith – and a real frustration about the direction that the city is heading in. I share that frustration. I share that frustration, and I think we can use this moment, and we can use this campaign, and we can use a new mayor in City Hall to demand that change and to deliver that change for Angelenos. I want them to expect more from the city, and I want to deliver more from the city for them,” said Raman.

Which is the Mother of All Chutzpah. Yes, I’ve written about Democrats putting on Republican skinsuits as November approaches, but this takes the cake.

One month ago, at the candidate debate, Raman was denouncing Pratt’s program to clean up the streets as ‘what a MAGA agenda looks like,’ and denied there was any problem (“This is not what Los Angeles looks like”), prompting Spencer’s hilarious response:

Now she’s saying clean streets are a legitimate desire of voters? After saying “this is not what Los Angeles looks like” and claiming anyone who thought so was the ultimate dirty word in leftwing circles: ‘MAGA’?

So MAGA was right all along? And now with votes up for grabs, Spencer was right all along? This sounds like an implicit admission that Spencer won the election, and the voters who voted for Spencer are a very large number up for grabs.

It’s certainly gonna be a hard sell given that previous stance. Notice that in her statement she is not promising specifically clean streets or bum-free school entrances, she just speaks of expecting more from government, which is probably plagiarized from Jonathan Turley’s reading of the situation anyway.

Just the stealing of the election ought to be enough to make her baleful to Spencer voters. It was so bad there are hopes it will be overturned based on the ballot-harvesting operation, where nearly all the ballots went to Raman, even though Democrat Karen Bass ought to have logically picked up some.

She really expects to gather up all the orphaned Spencer voters and persuade them to cast their ballots for her now? The person who rolled her eyes at complaints about bums in front of schools and vowed to ban backyard barbecues? The person who stole Spencer’s place in the final election?

The alternative, Bass, is equally repulsive, and the two leftists have both broken public trust in spectacular ways, Bass by letting the city burn, covering up the malfeasance, and preventing rebuilding, and Raman through the stated contempt for voters who wanted change and then the vote harvesting afterward.

Both will fight for Spencer’s voters now, pretending now that they agree with Spencer.

If I were a Los Angeles voter, I don’t know which one is worse. I’d probably sit it out as the least-horrible choice, but horrible nevertheless. But the syrupy about-face from Raman, who did the Spencer voters dirty, is particularly disgusting.
