Has the conflagration in France come to the U.S.?

According to News4, a local NBC affiliate:
QUANTICO, Va. (7News) — A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after police said they found him using a sledgehammer to smash an Iwo Jima statue in Quantico, Virginia.
Officers responded to Richmond Highway and Fuller Road at about 10:13 p.m. to investigate a report of property destruction. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified as Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, “actively damaging” the statue, according to Prince William County police.
The damage, estimated to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, included removing the head of one of the depicted soldiers.
What kind of monstrosity is this, someone who would brazenly destroy a memorial to the thousands of U.S. Marines who fought with leonine courage at Iwo Jima and 7,000 of them gave their lives? Not even Black Lives Matter, or antifa protestors in recent years have done this, though they came close.
Why was this monument of all monuments targeted? Why was this history targeted? Why was he able to do hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, as authorities have said. What kind of human garbage would openly do it right at the site of the Marine headquarters?

It’s like a bottom has dropped out, and France’s misfortune is now becoming our misfortune, too. We can’t have nice things anymore than France can.

How many more monuments are going to be destroyed by these worthless people?
Why would this criminal do such a thing? Sure, he looks like an average type of person who gets arrested, and apparently he has been:

But why would he target this?
Only someone with absolutely no respect for the U.S. nor respect for the sacrifices these men made would do this. Only someone who hates this country and has no roots in it.
The lowlife has not been identified as illegal alien at this point, but there are signs he may be one in illegal-rich Prince William County, which hosts 34,000 illegal aliens, only 470 of whom have been arrested in the past year. Forty-five percent of them are from El Salvador.
One can only hope that when his immigration status is disclosed, and doesn’t come up positive for him, he’s off to CECOT prison in San Salvador for a long stretch, after he is tried here, found guilty presumably, and does many years of time here. We’ll await Sen. Chris Van Hollen to follow him to El Salvador, bringing Rep. Eugene Vindman with him and Sens, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine. After that, they will find a judge to order him returned to the U.S. to continue to destroy monuments to our national identity and heroes as he does.
It’s simply vile. And this may be just the first of such incidents, forcing us to arm all monuments with guards if we want to keep them. Soriano can’t be punished enough, and every detail of his immigration status should be disclosed to the public before he is tried and sentenced to the maximum extent of the law.
