It comes as a relief to learn that Patrick Clancy, former husband of Lindsay Clancy and the father of three murdered children, is suing those who accused him of responsibility for the crime. This kind of thing has to be eliminated from the public sphere, and Clancy is the man in a position to do it.

Apparently, Clancy’s lawyers at Todd and Weld are sending letters of intent to those responsible for these accusations, alerting them to the fact that a suit is impending if a retraction is not immediately forthcoming. One of them was sent to Billy Bush, a name that will spark recognition among many readers.
Bush actually read the letter on his podcast, for which he deserves at least some minimal credit.
The letter opened with a reminder that “Patrick should be able to focus his time and energy on grieving and healing. Instead, he has been forced to attend to the impacts of irresponsible and horrific misinformation, conspiracy theories, outright lies that resulted in real-life threats to his reputation, livelihood and life…”
Bush then goes on to condemn the internet for all this, exactly as if it had nothing to do with him: “The internet,” says Billy, “has no way of filtering out the crazies.”
Uh huh. The letter goes on to note that Bush “Falsely published as unqualified fact that Mr. Clancy, quote, whether he did this or not, he was very much involved end quote, in the murder.”
He then goes on into a convoluted explanation as to what he actually meant by that remark, which he probably should have reviewed with his own lawyers.

Asmongold has been kind enough to post Bush’s OP, and, you’ll be shocked to learn, it’s a bit different than what Billy recalls:
…this weasel of a man, if he didn’t do it, he definitely did something. His dereliction of duty as a husband is over the top. His emotional abuse while his wife suffered is despicable. Whether he physically did it or not, he is very much involved… Set her free. Set her free. She has suffered enough.
You’ll note that the final “Set her free,” clearly intended as a call to action, is a non sequitur, having nothing at all to do with Patrick Clancy, even if Bush’s accusations were in fact the case. (The record strongly suggests otherwise.) If we cut killers loose because somebody was mean to them, Jeffrey Dahmer would still be running around eating people.
And that’s it. What we don’t see here is any kind of retraction. So it appears that Billy will be explaining this to the court some time soon.
This will be a cause for cheer in MAGA. After getting caught up in the October 2016 Access Hollywood tape uproar in which Donald Trump was secretly recorded making a number of locker room comments about picking up women while Bush laughed, Bush published an editorial in the New York Times in which he went over to the dark side, attacking Trump and providing ammunition for the Dems. NBC fired him from the Today Show anyway. He later said that he completely believed the women who accused Trump of sexual misconduct.
