What is it with supposed \u201cscientists\u201d and deadly contagions? Is playing with viruses that can cripple and kill millions, even wipe out the human race, warping already unstable personalities into God complexes, or are they just stupid and evil? Obviously, a high degree of schooling\u2014notice I didn\u2019t say \u201ceducation\u201d\u2014and facially impressive credentials don\u2019t equate to common sense or morality, Dr. Fauci and his co-conspirators being perhaps the most obvious recent examples. Thanks to them, the previous public image of noble, selfless scientists braving death as they struggle to protect us from deadly contagions has turned into dimwitted, malicious, narcissistic criminals in lab coats deceiving us for fame and fortune.<\/p>

We\u2019re constantly told to \u201ctrust the science.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Yeah, about that\u2026<\/p>\n

It appears that the Detroit Metropolitan Airport is the gateway for illegal imported biological samples to make their way into the country.<\/p>\n

Legal Insurrection readers may recall that a year ago,\u00a0two Chinese \u201cresearchers\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0were accused of conspiring to bring the fungus\u00a0Fusarium graminearum<\/em>\u00a0(classified in scientific literature as a potential agroterrorism weapon) into the country by smuggling it through the Detroit Metro Airport. Yunqing Jian ultimately\u00a0pleaded guilty in late 2025<\/strong>\u00a0and was sentenced to time served (about five months in custody) with removal back to China; her boyfriend, Zunyong Liu, remains charged but outside U.S. custody, having been denied entry and considered \u201cat large.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now two NIH researchers have been charged in a federal criminal complaint with conspiracy to smuggle monkeypox (mpox)\u2013related materials into the country via Detroit Metro Airport and making\u00a0false statements to federal authorities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office, Vincent Munster, 53, a citizen of the Netherlands, and Claude Kwe, 38, a citizen of Cameroon, are accused of providing federal authorities with false statements after arriving at the McNamara Terminal on Jan. 25, 2026. Officials say the two people, who were researchers, originally traveled from Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, where an mpox outbreak was ongoing.<\/p>\n

Customs and Border Protection officials spotted the individuals with a black plastic case, according to a criminal complaint. When asked, Munster and Kwe told federal officials the case was carrying diagnostic and testing equipment.<\/p>\n

Further inspection uncovered 113 vials in styrofoam coolers. According to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office, the FBI tested 20 of the vials shortly after the discovery \u2014 17 of those vials contained \u201cdeactivated monkeypox virus\u201d while another contained the chickenpox virus and two others contained human DNA.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And just who is Munster? He\u2019s the head of the Virus Ecology Section at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases–NIAID\u2014at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories. He specializes in deadly viruses like Ebola, MERS, mpox and, of course, COVID-19. This just might provide a clue about Munster\u2019s views of biohazard safety and morality:<\/p>

Dr. Munster has been actively involved in the response to MERS-CoV, Ebola virus, COVID19 and mpox outbreaks. During the COVID19 pandemic he was actively involved in the development of medical countermeasures and providing critical experimental data supporting direct public health decisions and interventions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It appears that it was a guilty conscience that tipped off agents:<\/p>\n

Kwe is a research fellow<\/strong>\u00a0\u201chighly motivated to establish disease and transmission animal models of emerging viruses.\u201d Apparently, it was his nervousness that led agents to take a look at their baggage.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s a good thing they did, because this is horrifying, if unsurprising:<\/p>\n

Munster smuggles biohazards into the country\u2014in his luggage<\/em>\u2014all the time because it might save money in the lab?! Did he learn that tactic because of his involvement in the COVID hoax, or in spite of it? Or perhaps he has always been an amoral, sloppy narcissist, playing Russian Roulette with the lives of others? This might provide an additional clue:\u201cYes, yes, it\u2019s all in my laptop, but you won\u2019t need them. I do this all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Poor Munster.\u00a0\u00a0Impatient at being unfairly harassed at an airport. What’s wrong with those Customs monkeys? Don\u2019t they know he\u2019s a scientist? Don’t they know he experiments on primates like them all the time\u00a0\u2014\u00a0with viruses he smuggles into the country in his luggage? Don\u2019t they know he’s a scientist,\u00a0so whatever he does and says\u00a0must be scientifically approved and beyond reproach?\u00a0They do now\u2014the \u201call the time\u201d part, not the \u201capproved and proper\u201d part.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s another chilling thought: had this happened during the Bidens\u2019 Handler\u2019s Administration, we might not have heard of this utter lapse in biohazard safety. Munster and Kwe, even if their crimes and lapses of basic biohazard safety were discovered at the airport, might have been passed through, or if an uppity, science denier agent insisted on arrests and charges, those charges would have been quietly dropped. But under Trump II, these guys just might have the book thrown at them. A law book rather than a science book.<\/p>\n

In this case, we might just have grounds for trusting the law.<\/p>\n
