Is there any federal law against police officers wearing masks? No, and it wasn\u2019t long ago that masking was mandatory for just about every American. Some sensitive souls still wear them.<\/p>

Should police officers always go unmasked? That depends. For local, uniformed police, that\u2019s the presumption and\u00a0part of \u201ccommunity policing,\u201d where agencies try to build relationships between officers and their public. But even within local agencies, there are circumstances, including very cold weather, in which masking makes sense.<\/p>\n

As anyone paying attention knows, Democrats have been demanding ICE officers go unmasked. They whine the officers aren\u2019t identifiable and don\u2019t identify themselves; they grab children from their schools and churches and kidnap illegal immigrants off the streets and throw them into unmarked vans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

None of that is true, nor are their motivations honorable or concerned with public safety.<\/p>\n

ICE agents wear body armor emblazoned with identifying patches front and back. Terrorists have no difficulty identifying them, harassing and attacking them. They usually wear masks because they know domestic terrorists cosplaying as \u201cprotesters,\u201d lavishly financed and organized by wealthy leftist NGOs and individuals, are filming them and trying to identify them to dox them and threaten them and their families. Those threats of violence are very real.<\/p>\n

At recent protests in New Jersey, one terrorist illustrated the reality ICE agents face daily:<\/p>\n

In the video, the protester can be heard taunting the officer: “I will\u00a0kill your whole f—ing family. Your whole f—ing family is dead. Your children and wife all dead. I have your face mother—er! All dead!”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Fortunately, he was quickly identified and arrested:<\/p>\n

Acting U.S.\u00a0Attorney General\u00a0Todd Blanche on Friday said a man who made death threats against a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer and his family at a protest in New Jersey Thursday night had been arrested.<\/p>\n

The arrest came just hours after Blanche promised the protester, who was captured on video, would be found and arrested.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s a federal\u00a0crime,” Blanche said on Fox News\u2019 “The Will Cain Show” on Thursday. “Not only threatening the ICE officer \u2014 but think about how disgusting this individual is by threatening his wife and his children with death.<\/p>

At that \u201cprotest,\u201d terrorists hit, kicked, and bit agents. We know because there are photos of the bite wounds.<\/p>\n

\n

On Wednesday evening, DHS reported that approximately 100\u00a0anti-ICE protesters gathered around\u00a0the Delaney Hall ICE facility. While rioters assaulted and threw objects at law enforcement, DHS said “local police refused\u00a0to help our officers.” Six rioters were arrested Wednesday night for allegedly assaulting law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

New Jersey politicians aided and abetted the terrorists:<\/p>\n

\n

“We called local police. We called\u00a0state police\u00a0multiple times. Listen, I know the law enforcement there would love to respond, but because of Governor Sherrill’s behavior what the governor is doing, she’s not allowing public officers and state officers to respond,” Mullin said during a Thursday morning appearance on “Fox & Friends.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s often said if Democrats didn\u2018t have double standards, they\u2019d have no standards at all.\u00a0\u00a0Where masked agents are concerned, that\u2019s certainly accurate. Democrat politicians like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries constantly demand agents be unmasked, but they\u2019ve never called for the unmasking of terrorists like Antifa and others besieging ICE facilities.<\/p>\n

ICE agents aren\u2019t going to dox terrorists or threaten them or their families, but they will arrest them when they break the law. The terrorists mask to avoid being identified and to avoid arrest and punishment for their crimes.<\/p>\n

Various Blue states like California have tried to ban masks on federal agents, but in California, a federal judge blocked that law. Such attempts to arm federal agents run afoul of the Supremacy Clause, but blue states are considering them anyway for the virtue signaling and harassment value.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, this is a battle between the rule of law and Democrats who recognize only those laws that agree with their policies. The safety of federal officers and their families and the future of America hang in the balance.<\/p>\n
