The UN is worthless when it comes to getting something done. Should we pull the plug and turn the building into an apartment building or maybe a convention center? I say yes. What we see at the UN every day is not making the world safer or anything worthwhile. Unplug the cord and let’s send everybody home. Let them take their parking violations to another country. What country would accept\u00a0them anyway?<\/p>\n

The United Nations is going broke? Please, say it is so. The world\u2019s largest parasite, the running cocktail party for despots, apparatchiks, terrorists, climate fanatics and Americanophobes, should be shut down — with prejudice.<\/p>\n

News reports tell us the U.N. is facing imminent bankruptcy, headed toward a financial collapse and is at risk of insolvency. It\u2019s \u201cexpected to officially run out of money in mid-August.\u201d<\/p>\n

The best part is \u201cthe United States is a big reason why.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe United States owes roughly $2 billion to the organization\u2019s regular budget on top of another $2.2 billion for peacekeeping missions, a portion of which has accrued over decades — far and away more than any other country that is in arrears,\u201d reports Politico.<\/p>\n

And what has the U.S. gained, as the largest contributor — the American taxpayer generously provides 70% of the U.N.\u2019s budget — from the criminal-infested organization? Headaches\u2026 and worse.<\/p>\n

More than six decades ago, American historian and journalist William Henry Chamberlin noted that the U.N., then not even 20 years old, had \u201ca distinctly bad influence on American foreign policy,\u201d with member states drawing the U.S. \u201cinto vendettas and one-sided positions which conform neither with principles of ele\u00admentary justice nor with America\u2019s own interests.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

America’s own interests? Our interests are not promoted by an organization pandering to their people back home with attacks against the U.S., or, let’s not forget, Israel. Like NATO, we are doing too much of the “paying” and getting too much criticism without consequences.<\/p>\n

Iran is a good example. They criticize\u00a0U.S. actions, but don’t have the defenses to stop an Iranian missile going their way. Let them defend themselves, because they obviously don’t appreciate what we do.<\/p>\n

Maybe the idea of a UN made sense after World War II or whenever. I don’t mind having a place where people can argue rather than fight each other on the battlefield. Unfortunately, that’s not what the UN has turned into. Just tune in and watch one of their sessions and see what I mean.<\/p>\n

So let them go somewhere else and pay the rent when they scream their anti-U.S. grievances. My guess is that no one will pay a dollar and the entire organization will collapse in five minutes.<\/p>\n

Doesn’t New York need a nice a conference center with a great view of the river? I think so.<\/p>\n
